Samplr ipad os model advice needed
Can anyone tell me what the latest Samplr version needs Ipad Os wise ? will it run on an Ipad 5th generation ? badly in need of Ableton link in Samplr but theres no way it is running , installing on my Ipad 4 ( dont laugh )

It requires iPadOS 12.0 or later. You should be able to look up which iPads can run 12.0
Personally, I would not purchase an iPad for earlier than a 6th generation for music. The jump in performance from gen 5 to gen 6 was huge. Gen 6 performance is similar to the first generation pros.
Samplr is running very well on my old iPad Mini 2 which is capped at iOS 12.
Here you can see single core benchmarks for various iPads. I’ve highlighted the base model iPad generations.
The 9th generation is almost 3 times more power than the 5th generation. You can see the 6th and 7th were basically the same, but the 8th had a decent jump in power.
I would go with at least an 8th generation. But the 9th generation competes with one of the most common iPad Pro models with the A12Z. However, considering a budget, it looks like the 8th generation will keep you going for a while.
