Not exactly iOS but applicable. Ownhammer is having an unplanned half-off flash sale through the end of the year. Could be a good time to pick up some impulse responses.

    Unplanned Holiday Flash Sale

This email comes with a brief forward, as it is derived from something much more personal. I appreciate those who will bear with me through it, and I will keep it as brief as I can to make the necessary contextual points...

Typically all communication from the OwnHammer brand adheres to the rules of technical writing I learned in college, many years before the LCD touchscreen age of smart phones and all the changes to our social structures that followed. In that, you never use the words "I", "we", etc. Just the facts, just the information, never anything that shows the source is an actual human. This dry, mechanical delivery may be a bit outdated these days, maybe not, but in this email it will be largely ignored as this message is, oddly enough for a flash sale announcement, more about the person behind the single-member LLC curtain than anything else.

To the point, 2024 was without question or comparison the absolute worst year of my life so far. It was repeatedly cut in half so many times, in nearly every facet, through both happenstance and intention, that by the end of the fallout there was practically nothing left. To be frank, after the dust settled and all that was left was debris, there were many times that I wasn't sure if I was going to opt to continue to exist just to rebuild everything from nothing again, in the presence of all that I had lost. All of this contributed silently to the very dry year from OwnHammer in the form of releases, socials posts, communication, etc. With the love and support of just a couple very wonderful people, however, after months and months of work I was able to get through and get going again. It is in celebration of defiance and triumph over this long string of sequential misfortunes and deliberate attempts of callous ruination that, appropriately portioned, for the rest of the year I'm offering an unplanned and highly symbolic half off sale.

Now through the end of 2024 at midnight (US Eastern Time), enter the following Discount Code during checkout to receive 50% off any order totaling over $50.00 on the OwnHammer.com website:

    FU2024

As always, valid for new orders only, and not retroactively applicable to previous purchases.

A true, heartfelt, and genuine THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me over the last fourteen years. At this stage of my journey OwnHammer is just about all I have left, and provided the embers that kept me going this past year that I hope to fan into an inferno over the course of the rest of this decade. To those who have allowed for this, you have my most sincere gratitude.

Happy Holidays, and may ALL of our 2025's be better than our 2024's

    Kevin

    Every year

  • Yup, that’s what I requested. My wife has been hinting she may have made some extravagant music gear purchase this year, so I have no idea what to expect.

Holiday Sale 2024, 33% Discount on all Products
    https://www.geoshred.com

In celebration of Holiday 2024 from December 20, 2024 - January 10, 2025, All GeoShred Products and Instruments are discounted 33%. This 33% discount applies to all versions of GeoShred for iOS AND macOS. Also all individual instruments as well as the Naada and GeoSWAM Collections are discounted 33%

Any plans to add new instruments any time soon?

Yes we are working on Naada 4. More details in January

I don’t know if anything like this is on your product roadmap, but I’d like to see a moForte take on modeled drums and percussion. Probably wouldn’t fit into GeoShred, but might be a cool new product line?

We have technology for Modeled Percussion. See the recordings from 1997 below. Drums can be more complex. A bigger issue is that the UI for GeoShred is melodic (a keyboard). Drums and percussion really require different Diverse UIs. A drum like UI, a keyboard based map or a TR808 style drum machine UI. The sounds are the least of it. We'd love to hear from you about how you think modeled percussion should be presented in a UI.

Patterning only has 8 sample slots, Oneshot has...24 I think? That can be spread anywhere on the roll you want. Oneshot's kits are more fleshed out and balanced sounding imo, since in Patterning you're just making your own or downloading community made kits from the cloud store. (they are damn good though)
I look at Patterning as the ultimate drum machine/sequencer, and Oneshot as my go-to finger drumming tool.
I'm not keen on Oneshot's IAPs though. Too rich for my blood. The stock kits are aplenty and sound great, so if they knock them down enough I'd grab them.

Fair enough. Unique enough differences to make each useful. I like the other idea to get a GeoShred drum setup. Not sure what MPE for drums involves… but it’s probably cool.

Cool synth, and it’s a tracker too (with the basic commands, volume, pan, glide)

At least compared to games you can mix and match and enjoy them all together in different ways. There’s no urge to “complete” any of them, and you can always justify having niche ones for rare uses.
