Parker loved his “ologies”. Here’s one, sadly, he never made it to.
SWAM Tenor Sax, Trombone, Alto Sax, Bass Flute, BeatHawk Total Bass and Vibraphone, and Jazz Drummer.

2024 will swing or won’t be.
Love it! Charlie Parker meets Frank Zappa.
Great start to 2024!
One of your all time best, in my opinion. This sounds like a live recording of a small jazz ensemble. The phrasing sounds so realistic. Very difficult to play a piano like a sax! The arrangement reminds me of Super Sax. I still recall the first time I heard them and was blown away. I think @pbelgium nailed it with the Zappa reference. Ruth Underwood!
Inspired by this!
Thanks @Paulieworld. I agree. It came together on this one. Yeah, Ruth. Was Zappa the first to utilize vibes?
That’s the best praise I can get @Stochastically. Thanks!
Agree with Paul about the phrasing… my foot was involuntarily tapping on this one 🦶👌
He wasn’t/I don’t understand the question.
Very cool track. Many thanks for posting. Sounds like you’re only using one instance of jazz drummer now.
@Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr i meant in rock music. Yes, only one track of JazzDrummer. Thx for listening.
@GeoTony keep those toes atappin’, bro.
See, I take these kind of assertions as a challenge to my music trivia knowledge. The mallet part on Under My Thumb? Marimba not vibes. Gary MacFarland’s albums? Jazz player covering rock tunes. Roy Ayers’ soundtrack to that old Pam Grier movie? Not quite rock.
You may have me stumped on this one!
lol, @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr i’ve opened a Pandora’s Box!
