ChordFire - great app for guitarist

Starting off the new year. Hopefully I can put out at least a video a week. I want to do some 10 minute challenges to get tracks started as well.

  • Thanks for the demo!

Ha! I have it but I never used it, will take it for a spin -- thanks!

  • @Pxlhg I feel that app has helped my guitar playing and like I said in the video, helps me look at the actual chord I am playing with the capo instead of the chord shape.

  • Looks like a useful app, and you could use it to double track guitar parts using the capo at different positions Tom Petty style:

That's a good idea! I don't like that he uses his thumb for some (really beautiful) chords. I never learned (or even thought of) doing that and having checked some videos now I see I do have a pretty bad arm position in the first place (the price of never going to a class). I'm not going to learn that now as I'm to old to start bending that way. Petty (not Tom).

  • @Pxlhg I do agree on that. I usually omit the thumb on those types of chords.

thumbs are for slapping the bass ! or tapping, but I agree. When I attempt to be a jazz guitar player from the 60s (total lie but goal) I just like using a pick and no many tricks. See I normally play Chapman Stick, so my prog side is well covered. Have yawl seen that young guy who doesn't use a pick but it sounds like it and he is nuts good! Marcello something maybe?
