By The Moonlight Of My Mind
Back to the EPs. Speaking of which, I wonder how @Daveypoo is doing in Italia. Dave, if you can hear me, happy new year, bro. Make some music!
House Mark 1 plus Electric Vintage, Bassalicious, Korg Module Cello and BeatHawk cello section.

I'm here - mostly lurking these days. I haven't been posting or making videos since I've not really been buying new apps - I've been trying to use all the ones I own to ACTUALLY MAKE MUSIC! I'm about 5 tunes deep on my next album, just holding off on posting anything until I'm a bit further along.
I like this piece - a bit moody, but I'm a sucker for a Rhodes. The bass and strings are a nice touch too, they add to the meloncholy of it all.
Italy is good - it's still here too. I appreciate the check-in - I hope you and your lady are well.
It is raining, I’m having my first cigarette outside waiting for the coffee to be ready. You have no idea how much this piece fits the moment. Gorgeous sound. After 3:27 it is my kind of writing. Love it.
I’m also a sucker for a Rhodes and EPs in general, but I really love the Cello layers you have going on here Mike!
Very inspiring piece @LinearLineman
@daveypoo writes “moody” like that’s a bad thing.
I love your EP moods. If you kept the MIDI performances I would like to score this as a collaboration product. I suspect you froze to audio and trashed the midi. I’d love it if you kept the midi if possible.
Keep ‘em coming. Cooking, playing and with a new partner: 2024 could be good for you. How’s Bodhi doing?
This is a beauty! Why don’t they make music boxes that play music like this? This will be getting some multiple plays from me.
Very peaceful and relaxing after a long day of work. You are really in a live ensemble state of mind.
Did you map out the instruments to the keyboard and do this in one pass?
I would love to hear what @McD could do with the MIDI and StaffPad.
On another note - gas prices went up 30 cents a gallon in less than 4 hours, here in Chicago. Every station I passed. Everywhere. That doesn’t happen under normal market conditions.
I am curious. What’s happening in your area?
California gets gamed at the pump:
What about the last few hours?
Sorry… no idea. I noticed when I fill up but rarely track the pump prices. Just locally it can vary by $1.50 depending on brand and location.
@McD @Paulieworld down the street at food4less 4.39 a couple hours ago (cali)
Gas is around 2.79 here at the NC/SC border.
Very beautiful piece, Mike! Thank you for sharing!
Good to hear you’re still out there @Daveypoo. Looking forward to hearing what you’re up to!
And good to hear from you, too @Edward_Alexander and a HNY to you, bro. Just listened to a collab we did when you were @intrepolicious.
Thx @jo9 yeah, it is your kind of writing. Course I could never write it. I wish I could replay some of this stuff but I have to accept where my strengths lie. Improvisation… the lazy man’s composing.
Glad you liked this one @dav. HNY, bud.
Just one pass on the whole shebang @Paulieworld. Thx!
Thanks for listening @jankun. Hope you were untouched by the earthquake. Don’t think Kyoto was in the area affected. Best for the new year, bro.
I’m with @Edward_Alexander . The electric pianos are quite lovely but the strings take this to another level.
Nice. Playing with Michel Legrand?
>
It makes me happy that you remember. 🙂
I’m still @intrepolicious on a lot of sites, like the Beepstreet forums, and a few others.
Thx for listening @MadeofWax @hes and @Edward_Alexander. Appreciated!
Back for my daily listen. I just love it. Especially around the 4:15 mark when the strings come forward.
Did you make others when you recorded this one?
Yeah @Dav i’m about to post another called Missed in the Mist. I’ll shout you out when I do.
@LinearLineman Another lovely piece. I’m enjoying listening to your music.
I have the Korg Cello, but don’t have BeatHawk. Are the orchestral instruments in it comparable to the Korg ones? Is it basically just sections vs the solo of the Korg?
@SixByNine i’d choose Korg Module over BeatHawk, but BeatHawk has things like Total Bass which is my go to acoustic bass. Mallets also very good.and harpsichord.
OK thanks. I’ll add it to my Wishlist if a sale comes up.
Nice while washing dishes.
Thanks for listening @Stochastically. I appreciate it!
Beautiful and gentle and then the strings come in at about 3 minutes to lift it even higher 🙏
Do you ever use the ThumbJam Cello Mike, within a certain range I think it’s still one of the most expressive available.
I have to agree that the strings really take this one somewhere else. The Rhodes is beautiful, but the strings definitely add another dimension.
Thanks for the listen @richardyot. Your comments mean a lot to me.
I do like the Thumbjam cello, @GeoTony but haven’t recently used it. Thumbjam was ahead of its time. It even allowed multiple instances bevorecAu3.
My pleasure - please forgive me if I don't always keep up with the Creations section, it's not that easy to find the time to listen!
It's been really interesting seeing your work evolve though, you're really embracing the possibilities of multitracking and making the most of the DAW.
Thx @richardyot, I missed this one. This forum helps us grow, don’t you think? I feel fortunate to have the tools and the peers.
Indeed, the tools are incredible, a whole studio at your fingertips. And I've learned so much from my visits here.
