A Synth Tribute to Final Fantasy
https://fear2stop.bandcamp.com/album/a-synth-tribute-to-final-fantasy
Many people are aware we were heavily influenced by music from video games, but few are aware that the Final Fantasy series of games (particularly VII thru X) just might be THE biggest influence. Frankly put, the writer of all of this music on this release, Nobuo Uematsu is an absolute genius. We thus humbly present to you all this collection of reimagined renditions of some of the greatest tracks from these games ; we hope you enjoy listening to these as much as we enjoyed making these!
Sales proceeds go towards paying for the licensing for streaming release

Away from home right now so only listened to a few on cellular data.
Good job on what I heard but why isn't 'Ami' on there? :-)
I had FF8 on my PS1 and on one occasion when a girl came round she raised an eyebrow at the sight of 'Final Fantasy' amongst some DVDs. I explained it was a computer game and further justified that I bought it because I loved the music. Set a new record for being friend-zoned with that one, but I still love the music today.
It sounds like you dodged a bullet with that one… of course, pictures might help us see your regrets as justified.
Can you illuminate the licensing issue? You can release on Bandcamp but need to license to make money from streaming?
And you intended to use Bandcamp money to do that? Just curious. Is there a larger audience to be tapped by using streaming services? The rates for Spotify seem like you’d need millions of downloads to make a little money.
I'll look forward to checking this out soon. Huge FF fan here especially from VII to X.
I loved the game music so much I bought all the official CDs of the music years ago. Just wonderful stuff!
Yeah this is a …ahem … grey market release. I ended up borrowing the money to pay for the licensing through soundrop about an hour or so after posting .
I get 1-2 sales on bandcamp every few months. TBH I use it more for storage purposes at this point . With streaming I may make about $60-70 a month after splits , so it’s much more feasible for me to concentrate there
Yes… I have the cds too! In fact IX’s soundtrack was my daughter’s bedtime music when she was a baby (she did the arrangement for Garnet’s Theme and Black Mage Village on this release)
I kept it 5 songs from each game and also ones I felt I could do justice to. There were some hard cuts tbh
I have never been a video gamer. I only played Pac Man in bars when I was young and single. The production on this is excellent. Everything is clear and well balanced. Top notch!
Thank you!
WOW! Finally checking them out just now.
Beautiful beautiful work! Favourites are Aerith's theme, Jenova battle music, Freya's theme, Balamb Garden, Julia's piano solo (which became Eyes On Me as a full song later in the game), The Man with the Machine Gun, Fisherman's Horizon. Loved the originals in-game and these recreations are amazing!
I used to have that Jenova battle music as a ringtone on my old phone.
As I'm not too bad at the piano, I was chuffed to bits to teach myself Aerith's theme and Eyes On Me (Julia's piano solo), the two most outstanding and emotional pieces ever! Those scenes with Sephiroth & Aerith (avoiding the spoiler for anyone who doesn't know and might still want to play the game)....and Laguna going to see Julia playing piano in the hotel in Deling City, really got to me on my playthroughs back in '98/'99 and remain unforgettable highlights for me.
Man! You made me want to boot up VII and VIII again for a 101th playthrough! 🤣👍
Well done on these tracks! Fantastic! ❤️
Thank you SO much …that means more to me than I can possibly express
I've never played VII but read about it and am not sure I'm emotionally strong enough to get through a certain character's demise.
Did a play through on VIII last year. Agree that VII to X was peak music, and having listened to a few more of these, well done again, a fitting tribute!
Just be prepared to have the rug pulled from under your feet, and have a box of tissues on standby! It hits pretty hard when you don't know what's coming, and it still hits hard even when you do know what's coming, even after a hundred playthroughs! 😂
I hope one day you will get to play the original version of VII. It's an incredible sprawling adventure. Don't care about old blocky graphics compared to modern games. It's the gameplay, story, music and whole production that simply kills and puts all modern games to shame.
Finally was able to finish the whole thing you really killed it! Excellent work here.
Thank you…this was actually a cathartic album for me and Suteki Da Ne might have been the only time I ever cried while making a song
Now on Spotify ! (YouTube should be up tomorrow )

Another new track just tagged onto an existing thread that slipped by me. Nice work @Fear2Stop.
Appreciate it!
