Piano prelude: hazelnut creamer

">

Another short piano prelude made in LP4i. Since I destroyed my mini Akai out of frustration and my piano is on the other side of the Atlantic I hade to copy my pen and paper sheet music with the screen keyboard and piano roll. It sucked. It sucked BIG.
To be honest I was reading that post and was thinking of that first A chord… which became an Cmaj13\A … and I got lost.

  • Lovely and dynamic piece, despite not being based on a performance. I'd love to know the story of how your piano ended up on the wrong side of the ocean.

  • @richardyot thanks for listening. The piano is where it’s always been. I’m the one moving a lot.

Is that for work? If so that’s hard going.

  • Oh no. I’m retired. GF on a different continent makes me spend too much money and stress on planes.

  • Listened a couple of times, it's a hell of a prelude👍🏻😁

  • I take my coffee black but I absolutely loved this! Well played sir

  • You're great at this genre, Joseph. Love the drama. You could post the sheet music, right?

I can take a photo of the shitty piece of paper Iused to write it if you want

  • @Pxlhg @jdp000 thanks for listening, means a lot.

  • I couldn't smell hazelnuts or coffee, but I could clearly smell the talent and work of genius, haha. 🤩

  • Great piece @jo92346. Your step-writing skills are exceptional, the dynamics sound like they were played on a real keyboard. Love coffee!

Thank you. I’m starting to get used to that process. It is a bit tedious, especially velocities, but in the end, it is quite ok. Doesn’t take much longer than recording - editing in the end, especially with my “record button curse” (I rehearse perfectly, then as soon as I hit record my fingers don’t obey anymore)

Many of us are afflicted by the dreaded 'record button curse', but sometimes disobeying fingers bring the goods.

Ah the ol’ “Red Light Syndrome” .. so many perfectly amazing performances lost to the nether.

I’ve read up on this affliction before, and the only solution I’ve ever read about to be able to overcome this, is ABR! (Always Be Recording!)

Btw, I also only drink my coffee black. Love the prelude piece!

  • Normally I can’t stand those sickly sweet flavored creamers, but I’ll make an exception in this case.

You have some damn good scoring skills!

  • Excellent piece here! Whatever you are doing, keep doing it.
