As AUM cannot do full landscape mode on iPhone - are there alternatives that do?
So as we mostly know AUM cannot do a full rendition of landscape mode, doesn't even rotate, and it makes it very awkward, especially when playing at gigs as the cable has to come out sitting over the keys on the keyboard- well for me at least. And I'm not sure Audiobus will work the way I would like, so I am looking for alternative hosts that can run on an iPhone in landscape mode.

I've learned to deal with it for now. But I know Loopy Pro does work great. I'm learning how to create a template of howbI use AUM live. But it takes time. I know there's a lot of great folks here so help is always available.
Audio-bus 3 has been my go to for live gigs. Used it for guitar, piano, and even live mixing.
I personally love being able to switch instantly via app icons.
So it can act as a purely standalone VST host then?
Yes. But, for AUv3 apps, not VSTs.
There's no audio recording and no built-in file player though.
A few other choices are Loopy Pro, Drambo, Ape Matrix, and EG Nodes. Audiobus is the most straightforward IMO though. MIDI routing isn't as powerful and intuitive as AUM though, but you get used to it. Audio routing is definitely limited in comparison to AUM. There are some ways to work around that though.
Wow totally forgot about Audiobus. Gonna look into creating my setup there.
Audiobus 3.
I think you will find Loopy Pro a more capable host (I.e. it has buses and releases cpu for idk effects and instruments )..and it has the integrated work surface elements.
Another vote for Loopy pro here. Straightforward, deep, stable. Built for performance. The very few midi limitations I've run into with it (compared to AUM) have all been handled by a mozaic script.
The only thing I miss about AUM is the very soothing blank opening screen where I can start a fresh project quickly instead of being forced to auto load the last saved project. 😂
Thx, but it is near $60 down here... a lot to spend if I am not using it for looping at all
I would vote for Audiobus 3. I love loopy pro but windows suck tremendously on a phone. I just want things to open in a maximum view and leave me access to the transport controls.
thanks folks - am setting up AB3 while watching this thread It is pretty straightforward.
I always found it interesting that all the AU’s inside AUM can do landscape, but AUM it self did not on iPhone.
It's easy to forget about Audiobus on the Audiobus forum, I admit! 😄
Sand can actually do landscape on iPhone. It's a less popular but still solid and interesting host. More similar to EG Nodes than anything else, I think. Fits up to three horizontal tracks in landscape on my little iPhone SE display.
