AUM: Simple(st) way to trigger an audio file (i.e. kick drum) through a MIDI trigger?
Hey everybody
I used to play on the streets - simply my voice and guitar, and it was so much fun! I want to do it again. I wear DrumPort Jingle Clip on my left foot, and a DrumPort Shaker Clip on my right one to add percussion, which is just an awesome addition for live performances. But they are barely audible in noisy environments (i.e. street corners).
I recently become aware of DK Sense: two very small MIDI Bluetooth devices (with ultra low latency). With those one can trigger a kick drum and a snare with each foot!
They are aimed to be used with either the DrumKnee 3D app or Stomp Box app. But among certain other limitations, they both don't offer loud enough audio samples for the AUX input of my Roland Mobile Cube, and as such they are barely audible when playing guitar.
Now I wonder what's the simplest way to trigger an audio file through MIDI in AUM. Because there I have more control over the volume and can pump it up quite a bit.
I already successfully connected both DK Sense devices to AUM. The simplest way (I imagine) would be an AUv3 app that offers 2 buttons: each of them plays a (configurable) audio file, and each of them can "MIDI learn". Or only 1 button → then I would simply load two instances!
I could probably code something with Mozaic that receives the MIDI signal and sends it to some synthesiser which has a drums preset loaded. But it's years since I used Mozaic. There's probably simpler ways to do this.
Thanks a lot for help!
PS: I also own Loopy Pro. I hoped that maybe there is some functionality to load a simple audio file and play it, but couldn't find anything like that.

Loopy pro loaded in aum (or running standalone) can do if for sure. Load the audio file into a one shot. Midi learn tapping the one-shot or manually set up a midi binding to play the one-shot.
If running in AUM, you need to make sure to route your midi source to the Loopy midi input.

Ah I see, the one shots, that's the thing! Thanks a lot, this gets me going. 👍
