RRS EQ560 Question

I really like the RRS EQ560 on iPhone, but the faders move too slowly for me. Is there any way to speed up the response time of the faders?

Comments

  • Those “faders” only respond to up-down motions… any side-to-side motion is ignored.
Move your finger fast up-down and fader will respond just as fast.

I think of them as rotating knobs. If you move side to side with just a little up or down added the knob
seems to act as if it’s stuck.

When you move your finger in a circle only the up-down motion is followed and the knob appears to be following
your circle. It’s confusing in that respect.

@4pockets_paul got a complaint in one of his apps about the X-Y behavior of his knows and he made it configurable to respond to only X (side-to-side) or Y (up-down).

I only use up and down motion. That’s what I’m talking about. Trying to move the faders is like trying to drag a donkey up a hill. Why would anyone use side-to-side motion on a fader?

  • If you use Drambo you could map them to knobs and the knobs to a rack of faders. This way they're also always visible in the rack and not hidden behind a window. The only downside is that a double tap doesn't reset the value.

It looks like they're purposely scaled down and damped to allow more precise adjustment. Have you bought the IAP?

But why isn’t there a toggle for precise and broad control? It’s a nightmare. Gives me carpal tunnel. What is an IAP?

IAP = In-App Purchase. Have you paid for the app, or are you using the free trial version?

Just the free trial. I really want to buy it, but I don’t think I can work with the slow faders. Do you think the paid version might be different? Response wise? The demos of the other RRS eqs respond fine, but this is the one I want to use.

Sorry. I’m looking at EQ550… isn’t this the developer that’s in Russia and can’t get paid due to sanctions?

Yes. He has experienced a certain popularity, with models of "classic" EQs, and the Polivoks synth.
