they missed a trick by not adding a poly aftertouch keybed.

Yeah, makes the poly after touch enabled module with a suitable keyboard a much better bet imo.
Poly aftertouch must be too expensive to implement properly, otherwise most keyboards would have it. It's still rare today, even in large and expensive models.
Well, the 49 key poly aftertouch Korg controller keyboard costs £499. So, you would probably be adding about £200 to £300 on to the price considering how cheap the standard keyboard is on these models

after playing the ASM Hydrasynth , i can't go back from poly after touch. ill stick with the VST version of opsix.
The Opsix module recognises poly aftertouch though, so you could get that and play it from your hydrosynth.
indeed, but a shame for people who don't have a Hydrasynth as i see the opsix as a competitor to the hydrasynth

yep, there are more and more hardware synths with poly aftertouch nowadays, behringer ubxa also has poly after touch.
what if you don't want to use a DAW? in terms of DAW free live music the opsix without poly aftertouch fails to the hydrasynth.
the opsix mk2 aint cheap , i think its 900 euro. I think it's a big miss not to have a poly aftertouch keybed.
Skip this and get an opsix module and separate polyat keyboard

the module version has 80 voice max polyphony compared to 48 max polyphony for the mk2 keyboard version. weird marketing.
Korg is encouraging customers pair this up with their Keystage, which has poly AT (from Medeli/ASM) and MIDI 2.0.
Not a bad idea if the Keystage has significantly better quality keybed compared to Opsix/Wavestate/Modwave keyboards. The Hydrasynth keyboards I've tried felt pretty good to me, and yes better than the Opsix/Wavestate MkI keyboards... but I'm no keybed cork sniffer.
not so much the keybed quality/feel per se, it the fact the ASM has poly aftertouch so the way you can modulation the sound per note.
the marketing might push the korg module with the Keystage but still it doesn't push the new opsix mk2.
My wild guess is there is no poly AT on the Opsix Mk2 because ASM/Medeli did not provide the keybed for that one.
I have a Hydrasynth Explorer that feels nicer to play than the Opsix's which I also have, so I'm good on my end.
No MIDI 2.0 either on Opsix Mk2, for those who care about that.
Really don't see much reason to get this over the module version if you have even just one working keyboard already.
Weird minor re-release. I still don’t regret the original at full price, but it seemed to tank and go on clearance real fast.
its such a great synth , its great for live play (no DAW) so that why I'm bummed that the key-bed aint poly AT. not worth 900 euro for this minor minor upgrade.

Finally, Wavestate, Opsix and Modwave as modules - Korg do listen to their users' feedback 👍🏼
I'm one of those customers who bought the OG Opsix for $300-ish during that Korg warehouse clearance. For that low a price I didn't mind the quality of keybed. At one point I hooked up my Keystep 37 to it to try out the aftertouch response, which ain't bad.
Even if the Mk2 did come with a poly AT keyboard I still wouldn't buy it. Why would I? My OG Opsix still works fine and I have a polyAT keyboard I can connect to it. Opsix Mk2 would just take more space in my house.
Korg claims the supply chain shortage delayed them but better late than never.
