Korg NTS-3 Kaoss Pad

edited January 2024 in Hardware

You know what I would really like? Some sound examples and specs instead of generic presentation music No. 4.

Edit: four effects simultaneously which is four more than the 1000 bucks Replay, USB C, no sampling. 150 international beer tokens.

  • Yeah. Where are the sound demos.

  • edited January 2024

There are some sound demos on Korg's Souncloud:

...but would be great to see a video showing it in use.

The soundcloud demos are linked from the official NTS-3 page:

Have you sent them a proper 'request' for it thru https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us ?

I did, in 2020 I sent them a few of my ‘mockups’. They replied:
Thanks for the designs, they look pretty nice. I can't say we're working on incorporating any of the analog team's products at the moment, but it's certainly something to think about.

  • @samu How do you like the NTS-1 Mk2?
    I guess I want one 😊

Nah, I'll honestly pass on that one...
...but I would not mind having it as an AUv3 for the iPhone/iPad.

  • I love Korg. They’ve made some of my favorite synths ever. But of all the recent announcements, sadly the MicroKorg 2 is the only one they really interests me. I have the OG NTS-1 and it’s great but not sure I’ll upgrade. And I don’t have space for anything else.

The Replay was an absolute disaster though.

It’s baffling that this build-your-own Kaoss can have four effects simultaneously while the Replay has only one.

Right?! It really makes me wonder what tf was going through their minds with the Replay? Like what use does it have? Everyone I know was disappointed from DJs to beatmakers to electronic musicians. It was made for no one lol

Where does it say there are 4 FX simultaneously possible? The 4 fx buttons on the device are just for quick preset recall. You activate one and control the selected FX through the pad.

It may not say in the video but it does get a mention on the product page https://www.korg.com/uk/products/dj/nts_3/

„ With up to 4 effects playable at the same time and deep editing options, NTS-3 stands as a performance powerhouse, …“

    https://www.korg.com/uk/products/dj/nts_3/

The video is garbage, doesn’t even showcase the effects.

    Thanks bud. That sounds exciting.

  • Would be nice if the iPad app got an update to do line in audio. Don’t foresee that happening and after seeing some recent demos, this would be a nice addition.

  • It says it can have third party effects

I didn’t get invited to the first two parties

  • A few third-party effects get demoed as well.

  • Very intriguing

  • Thomann Website says available in few months:(

  • Shame about the build quality, looks great otherwise.

At least it has USC-C, unlike the Kaoss Replay for 10x the price.

  • Definitely, I won’t buy anything that comes with older USB or micro usb connectors anymore.
