Koala sample recording and length quantize?

Hey all,

Is this possible, and I’m just missing it…?

Put Koala AU into an audio FX slot in AUM track with input bus A
Have a drum machine in another track and route audio to bus A (ie into koala)

Hit play in AUM so drum pattern plays/loops

(Here’s where I’m lost)

I want Koala to quantize/sync it’s sample recording to a bar boundary and record for x beats…

That’s not possible, is it?

You could use a midi sequencer to start and stop koala’s recording.

You could use a midi sequencer to start and stop koala’s recording.

Gotcha, didn’t realize that was buried in there.. Thanks.

Have to use it’s built-in mapping as it doesn’t seem to expose sample pad recording. And there’s no toggle option, so setting up a midi trigger that has a gate length as long as the drum loop every time would be kind of a pita…

Someday I’ll find a tool that works how I want, instead of driving nails with a screwdriver. 😃

I was using Koala in Drambo to do this, using Drambo’s sequencer to start/stop the sample recordings. Then I just switched to Loopy Pro.

Or you can record into a Drambo flexi sampler, and drag/drop that into Koala.

Now, I just do it by ear, like looping with a pedal, only with my finger
