Point Proven

Another thread closed, point of view suppressed and user banned. Kinda proves their point. It is manipulation, because you don’t like what’s being said, you shut it down.

https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/59434/abf-nanny-state/p1

And where did all the vitriol come from? Not from ‘NannyState’ but certain forum members, mostly the usual pile on ‘Lieutenants’.

It’s ok to hold different views, to disagree, to be open minded, more inclusive without being vile, even if your perception and beliefs are challenged. Pause. Don’t speak or be Keyboard Warriors for a moment. Think. Look inside yourselves and see if you can find some truth in the point that was being made.

I posted a truthful account of my negative experience with Pulsar Modular and Lunar Lander myself and both threads ended up getting closed? Somehow managed to not get a banning 😂 Why did they get closed, what did I do that triggered the mod, other than recount my truth, my experience?

https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/50203/what-happend-to-lunar-lander/p1

https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/59407/lunar-lander-is-coming-back/p1

Personal choice vs. manipulation and censorship. Do you see the difference? I like to choose myself who to ‘Ignore’ (all feeble Lieutenants here 😆👍) and not for that to be chosen for me by the Nanny State, those I can’t hear opinion from anymore, those who must be suppressed, stopped, erased, banned! Of course one should try to be civil, polite and respectful but that doesn’t always come across in text as well as it should.

Looks like only positive expression is allowed here. No opinion around negative points of an app or developer.

It is undeniably a biased forum, it’s not independent neutral citizen journalism. It’s a biased independent dictatorship. Dominated by a few loud blue pill voices who rally the weaker sheep.

Guess if that expression of free will gets me banned, so be it ♥️🫡

Of course it is biased, sadly that’s true under any form of governance, music is an expression of free will, for either good or ill, otherwise it would be sterile nonsense, devoid of humanity. <3

  • I think maybe some people are expecting too much of this forum. This isn't real life. This is a site to exchange ideas about music, not to make a stand. Sorry, it just isn't a place to challenge authority or rail about freedom of speech... it's a site about music and software. Don't try to make it something it's not or you won't enjoy it here.

    Exactly.

  • I just joked this place is getting like China, and my comment was deleted! Wow!

  • I would guess that threads get closed and comments deleted because they break the rules of the Forum as set by the owner.

For those who might not have seen Michael's ground rules...

"This community is all about making music, with a focus on the iOS music world. Please keep all content related to music and music-making.

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels respected and valued. Insulting, bullying, or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated. "

Weren’t the OP’s trying to discuss points around iOS music making apps and the suppression of anything negative related to iOS apps and iOS developers on here? Of course they can’t do that now because the threads were closed and the users banned 😂 Oh the irony 😆

    Yes, they were.

I suspect it was more about the tone of what was said....

"I won’t be giving Pulsar Modular a single cent ever again and will never trust them. They are unprofessional and untrustworthy."

Allowing a developer to be called "untrustworthy" on this Forum could get the Forum owner in legal trouble. And it is not a good look for the AB developer to allow this kind of talk about another developer.

But, I don't know the details of the mods decisions. I'm not a mod.

Over the last 11 years I have seen lots of criticism and suggestions about apps on this Forum. As long as it is kept repectful and polite it causes no problems. When it gets aggressive or name calling it seems to be a problem.

Really you think legal action on the Forum Owner for an opinion expressed by a member? That must keep them up all night 😂

Could it not be said that ‘unprofessional and untrustworthy’ were assessments from their opinion, based on their experience with the app/developer? Not everything needs to be categorised as aggressive or name calling 🤷‍♂️

I don't know... is the Forum owner "a publisher"? We live in litigious times.

Even if there is no legal action, it is not a good thing to have on a developer's forum.

Calling a developer "unprofessional and untrustworthy" probably fits the description.

  • The threads weren’t closed because of the point of view expressed. They got closed because they devolved into increasingly hostile exchanges.

There are ways of expressing disagreement that aren’t hostile. If one finds it impossible to express disagreement without being hostile, this forum might not be the right place for someone.

  • Good job we have saviours like you to make that decision for us 👍😆😂

Even this thread is being choked!

The Revolution Is Dead - Long Live the Revolution! 🫡😆

This from another private site I came across today, what a bunch of lurking manipulative asshats huh!? Jokes aside: maybe this is something to add here as well as the pinned comment don't seem to do the trick.

I had a thread disappeared, it may have been controversial, sometimes truth is, about how music was being used as vile propaganda, the evidence was challenged by a member of the forum, so I provided provenance.

That evidence along was a large amount of other evidence has further been found to have merit by the highest authority in the world, the International Court of Justice.

    What Revolution?

To have a revolution you need a lot of unhappy people.

That is not the case on this Forum.

It just depends on what you define as a revolution, it really is a cyclical term, so aside from assigning arbitrary limits a revolution contains no clearly defined boundaries. Not only that trying to define something objectively by using subjective data is very tricky.
