App for putting pretty text on photos?
Preferably with little or no tracking.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. It’s just that I’m not familiar with doing this kind of thing.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what "tracking" means in this case, but I do know ProCreate is a top art app with text adding capabilities. Requires no subscription whatsoever as well.
Apple Keynote.
Thanks. Tracking is always specified in app details. It only seems to matter much to some people, but I’m one of them.
Went with Procreate in the end, because who knows what else it might be useful for. Looks great.
Excellent.
phonto!
Depends what you mean by “pretty”. Would standard fonts work, or are you looking for something more than that?
Not sure what you mean by pretty text exactly, but you can do this in the stock Apple photo apps.
Good call 👍
If you want to get very pretty designs with zero effort then Canva is the best bet, the free tier should be enough, although I have no idea if it does tracking.

Linearity Curve (used to be called Vectornator) is free and well worth a look

Edit: Just noticed the no tracking requirement. It might not be any good on that front.

Desktop? iPad? iPhone? And what is the final use for the image? Print? Facebook posts? Need a little more information to narrow things down.
It's surprisingly thorough these days. Good for making album covers too - has a lot of decent templates.
Keep in mind Canva is a subscription service. And you might want to weigh it against offerings from Adobe as well as long as subscriptions are part of the discussion.
I like this one:

A lot of people overlook the pretty extensive editing abilities right in the photos app. I have a lot of photo editing apps, but only use them in the relatively rare times where something I need isn't there. Then I use Affinity photo because I know it has everything. It usually only takes me about 30 minutes to refresh my memory how the heck to use it. 😂
I'll have to try Keynote next time. Great suggestion!
Canva has a free tier which is pretty good. It's also a different beast to the Adobe suite, Canva is all about using templates whereas Adobe is for people who want/need to design from scratch.
I think if you want to design something that's going to look really nice (but maybe somewhat generic) in record time, then Canva is great.
Also a good point to consider, although I think Adobe has a lot more templates than they used to for greeting cards, posters, etc. than they used to.
I like using https://www.photopea.com/. It a online photo editor.
I often reach for Wordswag when I need to add something cool to a picture and have little time on my hands.
I’m not sure what the IAP is, I paid for it many years ago, but it is now free + some form of IAP.
That IAP being a $5/month subscription.
Oops, never mind then. It’s a nice tool, but maybe not worth that kind of monthly fee. Apparently, I’ve been upgraded for free for being an “original” user.
Definitely not. Logic is different. But just for adding text to a photo, one is definitely better off with ProCreate and learning to do that on their own. (I use the ProCreate method for my album covers.)
