Fastest Transfer of Screen Video Files
Hi,
I am starting to make videos using my iPad and Loopy Pro, and my instrument. I will edit several angles of videos, and the video I capture in the screen recorder into one final video.
I add in the iPad screen recording video because it shows some of the plugins and my set up in Loopy Pro.
PROBLEM: It takes forever (and a day) to move the screen recorder video files off my iPad. [No, I will not video edit on my iPad]
Right Now: I have my iPad connected to a Uni (brand) USB hub, and I have a thumb drive connected to the hub. I select the video file in the Photos app on the iPad, and "share" it to the Save File option, and then pick out the USB thumb drive.
NOTE: I added a picture of the USB hub and my thumb drive
Any way to move video files off the iPad faster??
Thanks
AJ

I always get hubs with fast ethernet, and share the files through the network using the Files app.
If you have a Mac, AirDrop to the than Mac. It is much faster than using a thumbdrive. Also, what do you mean by a thumbdrive?
That makes me think (which gets me into trouble at times); the Uni brand hub does have an ethernet (like a Cat 5 port) type of connection. If I had an ethernet cable, could I actually connect a PC to that, and would it show up in the "Files" app on my iPad as a drive? It's extra work dragging my computer to my iPad vs. moving a small plug-n-play thumb drive around.

this pic shows the hub attached to the iPad and the thumb drive
@vmusic : keep in mind that some thumb drives are much slower than others and an ssd might be faster. Using a network connection to transfer directly will likely be much faster
Yes, connect both devices to the same ethernet hub, then shared drives on the connected computer can be accessed by clicking on the 3 dots on the top of the files side menu, then tap on ‘Connect to Server’. After you successfully connect, the computer will show up at the bottom of the side menu under the ‘Shared’ heading.
If you're going with USB, make sure your hub and thumb drive are USB3!
@MarkH good point, I'll check
