Bleass Omega Vs Tera Pro
Omega is on sale and I’m a Preset guy but Tera Pro seems to be a constant work in progress, I want to know your thoughts
Comments
Two of my favorite synths!
Omega is MUCH easier to design sounds with (it’s actually one of the easiest to design sounds with period IMHO) but…if you’re a preset guy then you NEED Tera Pro if you have the FM7 module IAP because you can use DX7 patches like you can KQ Dixie
Nice, thank you!
Totally agree. The FM7 module was a massive leap in capabilities. I use KQ Dixie much less now.
Not really comparable. Tera is a modular type synth with multiple IAP oscillators, including dx7 as mentioned but also wavetable and others.
Omega is a 4op FM synth, which is fun but much more basic. Depends on what you need.
Hard to compare. I like the UI of Omega A LOT more. Tera Pro has a pretty big learning curve. But once you learn it’s very rewarding and there’s so much it can do besides just having a full FM engine.
Also don’t miss TeraVerse. It’s a preset player version of Tera much like Synthmaster Player is
Does TeraVerse have the same presets that are in Tera Pro? Would there be any reason to get in addition, other than being lighter on memory perhaps?
Teraverse can “morph” parameters between two presets using Mod wheel, rather just stack presets. I think the factory presets are the same. The IAP presets you get in Tera pro DO carry over to teraverse (edit). I can recommend
I thought about teraverse just haven’t lept
I ended up going Tera Pro but now I’m wondering if you can do in Drambo, what Tera Pro does just by using different Modular’s.
As someone else mentioned, you can morph between the presets. Besides that it’s generally just a preset player for the main apps presets. I haven't tried it but Tera Pro has some amazing presets.
