Routing iphone's Built-In-Mic while using iRig HD-X?

Wondering is this possible?
I tried Built In Mic as input to Cubasis as output which works until I plug iRig.. It seems to hijack the inputs and BIMic becomes unavailable there on.
Not sure is this impossible or there is some clever routing or something else?

Thanks,
Al

That’s an iOS limitation. There’s nothing you can do about it unfortunately, except possibly in Logic Pro.

  • Logic Pro for iPad does some 'non-standard' tricks to allow more flexible audio routing so you can use the built-in mics as the input and output to any connected device.

Thank you Samu. I tried it in Logic Pro, same thing happens, can you clue me in. What are the non-std tricks?

As far as I know Logic Pro for iPad uses private APIs to manage audio device selection so when a user has multiple audio devices connected it’s possible to freely choose which of the connected devices will be used when disabling ‘automatic device selection’ so there’s no ‘hijacking’ when connecting devices.

  • Kids would say "Haaa?", "Say whaaat?" here :) I have some general knowledge but am not an IT major person.. It did cross my mind that if upon plugging in the iRig, I loose the Built In Mic and get Hdx-1, 2 and3 inputs as only available, I need somehow to suspend HDX-2 to free Input-2. I am not sure were you refferring to using AudioBus and AUM? I tried that but could not get it to work. How do you disable auto device selection?

    My apologies for many questions..
