Moog Mariana Synth - 1.1.0 Update - 45 New Presets - 4 New Filter Slope Options & More

This is a significant new update, adding a bunch of new filter slopes, now from 0db to 24 db, we only had 12db before for both low pass and high pass filters.
45 new presets with nearly all of them using the new filter slopes, they are really good too.
And a bunch of other stuff listed below.

• Performance improvements.

• The keyboard can now be expanded and collapsed in the plugin versions, as well as in the standalone desktop version of Mariana.

• The Low Pass and High Pass Filter of Synth 1 and Synth 2 now have an option to change filter slope to 0dB, 6dB, 12dB, 18dB and 24dB.

• 45 newly designed presets using the new filter slopes with the group name “Moog 1.1".

• Improved saw and sharktooth wave shapes in the oscillators to remove aliasing at certain duty cycle settings.

• Edited preset notes and tags are now directly saved to the current user preset without requiring an explicit preset save.

• The plugin size of Mariana is now stored and recalled from DAW sessions.

• Standalone window was not resizable right after software unlock. Fixed.

• Preset tags were not saved to exported/shared presets. Fixed.

• Right after software unlock succeeds, save as was not enabled. Fixed

• Mod amount rings in modulation summary would sometimes not update. Fixed.

• Sharing presets on Windows could delete temporary files that didn't belong to Mariana. Fixed.

• Swapping Synth 1 and 2 did not swap panel modulation assignments. Fixed.

• Upon plugin instantiation Mariana could crash on some machines while performing the software unlock licensing. Fixed.

• Clicking on Init while previewing presets would play a random preset preview. Fixed.

I hope you enjoy the video.

  • Yes but, wen SALE? @MoogMusicInc

  • Lots more filter slopes seems like a good update to me.

It was on sale from early December 2023 until early January 2024. Even at the regular price it is an incredible bargain given the power, quality and frequent updates. Thanks @MoogMusicInc!

I know, you can easily see this in App Sliced https://appsliced.co/app?n=mariana-bass-synthesizer

They also took it off intro pricing without saying anything.

It’s a 14.99 app, not 29.99, as acknowledged by pricing it at that in the first place.

I doubt many have paid full price for it on here. I won’t be. Especially as it’s iPad only and will never be on iPhone.

To me it is worth wayyyyyy more than $29. But thanks for that link. I just realized the Moogerfoogers are on sale! Time to snatch those up. They've been on my "must buy" list for a while:)

They’re not 14.99 is full price for those. 9.99 was the sale price. Moog doesn’t have a sale on at the moment.

Did you pay full price for Mariana?

  • Some of the new 1.1 patches sound pretty good - old fashioned whiddling (how to get fired from every studio session/band) aside.

Makes you realise how overpriced the 4.99 IAPs are for just 35 additional presets.

InMusic group really trying hard to take advantage of Moog’s loyal customer base!

Yes I did, but only because I missed the initial sale price. But that was my fault and I take full responsibility for that. At the same time I am extremely thankful that such high quality plugins exist for IOS. I grew up seeing Moog (and other) synths played by my childhood music idols playing on TV and at concerts. I would never have dreamed that one day I would have access to those same synths and sounds at a very affordable price. I am truly thankful for that. It brings a smile to my face and produces a warm feeling in my heart every time I play them. Be thankful. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

  • @Dham Great that you take full responsibility for your own actions 🤣😆

I never sweat the small stuff, just like I never pay higher than a sale price!

Seriously, lovely it warms your heart though. Long may that continue.

I’m going to exercise patience for now but hope to pick it up at 14.99…or less 😉

@01XMO All good:) I'm a bargain hunter at heart. Flea Markets and Thift Shops are a big part of my weekend adventures. Ebay fills the void when I can't get my flea mart fix:)

  • I just don’t like the sound of this synth. Something wrong with me, apparently.

This synth has some deep low end so depending on what kind of system you are listening to, it could make a difference. The subs are extremely in your face, but the overal sound so far is pretty Moog and I’m enjoying this synth a lot.
Dagger and Mariana for me is good enough to cover bass.

Thanks, good point. I’m definitely not hearing the bottom and so am missing out. What I do hear is a lot of fizz (sorry for being inarticulate, but “fizz” is what I hear). I hear the fizz in most of the patches. I don’t know what it is.

I usually love the Moog sound. I don’t know why this one has yet to grab me. Maybe in a few years I’ll get it.

Yes, I understand what you’re hearing. The fizz is the second synth, in most patches it layers on top of the sub. Since most patches are layered, one is deep low end and the second one is set to a higher freq range. This can result in fizzy sounding patches. When listening on Ipad speakers, this is very clear. Monitors that dont reach 40hz easily will not be able to reproduce the original sound, resulting in loss of sub and leaving you with an unbalanced sound. You can adjust the levels of both synths in the the mixer, but still will lose the lower freq punch when not having a sub woof or hearing it on small speakers.
I use cans that reach good low end and enjoy listening to below 60hz stuff in my car.
After all, it’s a bass synth and imo far better than TB Lowtones.

I've tested and recorded performance before and after update, and I don't see any difference.
I just wish they implement some setting to lower the cpu usage. Low audio quality = low cpu setting, please?

Thanks, excellent analysis. Animoog will probably always be my favorite ios synth, tied with Geoshred.
