A little Lo-Fi Tape action: Beyond The Wall Of Sleep
“We are all roamers of vast spaces and travellers in many ages.” - H.P. Lovecraft, Beyond the Wall of Sleep
A mellow little thing for a change. Just some random chord stabbing via KB1 and Scaler into Atom, then duped as audio into a few offset Tape Players in AUM. (So: the usual minimum effort non music, then.) Usual reverbs apply. Damn but I do love the instruments in Lo Fi Tape though.
Discuss, disagree, destroy or deny as is your wont. Be sure I will hang upon every syllable.

I love this.
I have an idea for a video.
Okey dokey?
By all means! Excited to see what you do with it
Just saw/comment on SC. This is excellent Irena!
Curious though, are you running the midi from Scaler 2 into Atom and then using Atom to in turn play lofi tape?
Hi! And thank you! Glad you liked it. Not Scaler 2, Bram’s Scaler from the Rozeta suite. I initially had a much denser arrangement with a few midi generators in there alongside my direct noodles. (KB1 has an option to create a scale locked keyboard on its own, of course.)
I had Scaler on standby in case I wanted to run any generators that lack the facility (I was initially using something that didn’t- Midi tape recorder, maybe? I go through multiple iterations and AUM sessions building up my noises, so two or three iterations in, it gets kind of hazy what was initially driving what before I turn a submix into audio.) The final mix down session was just four varispeeded Tape Players using the outputs I’d already recorded live mixed into AudioShare.
As it turned out, I stripped out about a dozen channels (!) and I only ended up using my own noodles direct from KB1 using it’s own Scale option to keep me honest direct into just Lo Fi Tape to create those Tape Players. Murder your darlings, less is more, etcetera…
Of course, if I wanted to be real belt and braces, Atom can drag everything into line too
The perfect compliment to the peak of my high before I fall asleep. ❤️ Bestie you've outdone yourself!
@jwmmakerofmusic : thank you! First time this ex cop has aided and abetted a high, I think!
😂 Hehe. That's hilarious.
I swear one of these days we should collab on something. Maybe I take one of your Ambient jams and turn it into something like Justice. Or, we can do a joint Ambient track. What DAW do you use when you're not in AUM?
Very nice
Lovely… although I did read the title as Beyond the wall of Sheep to begin with… must be a northern thing 🐑
