Happy Valentine's Day 2024 - New iPhone Pop Song

So last month, I finally produced and released my mother's song "I Love You". This month however, I decided to try something different. Basically I took some inspiration from the themes of many of Shakespeare's plays (most notably "Romeo and Juliet") and decided to turn that into a song.

But I needed lyrics that paint a picture with words rather than the direct sort of lyrics many modern Pop songs utilise. So I did a study of Glenn Frey's lyrics to understand how he used imagery and other such lyrical tools.

Then I needed a proper instrumental, and so I created one based off of a few favourite Pop instrumentals. For instance, the two tom hits before the chorus were directly inspired by that moment in Sia's "Alive" right before that chorus. The arrangement for the verses was inspired by Katy Perry's "Rise".

And above is the result of the research and inspo, mostly produced on my iPhone. (I used Nanostudio 2 for the instrumental and Cubasis 3 to layer vocals on top. Then I airdropped the unmastered recording to iPad to master it in Logic Pro.)

I hope you all enjoy it. Cheers. 🍻

Thank you so much mate. Holy sh-t, it's got over 100 plays already?! That's mindblowing!

  • @jwmmakerofmusic , I really like the way you explain the "story behind" songs your share 👍🏻… and, of course, really like listening to every song you share in any genre you touch!

Thank you so much, Legend. 😎 Happy belated Valentine's Day. Hope you and your significant other spent some nice time together Wednesday.

  • It still amazes me that you do what you do on an iPhone. Again, something different from you, and definitely capture a pop sound here.

Thank you so much. My iPhone is basically a handheld iPad Mini but with 4x the storage space. 😂

  • Excellent work as usual. I don’t think there’s a genre you couldn’t turn your hand to and produce a great result 👌… sorry for the double negatives !

Thank you so much mate. I try my best. :) Well, I'm even honest about my dodgier attempts at a genre and sometimes ask for help here, which is always given. <3 It's one of many reasons I like this forum - it helps me grow as a musician.
