I don't know when they added the Tape Stop effect, but it's lots of fun (and I'm using the Wow and Flutter effect, which they seem to have likewise slipped in when I wasn't looking, as a rotary effect on the organ)...
Another fantastic update! I used to use Waveshaper all the time during my FL days. I'm so happy Image-Line brought it here in FLSM! And tape effects?! Jesus! Looks like I'm installing FLSM to my 14 Pro Max. No way am I going to not have some fun with FLSM!
@jwmmakerofmusic : No auv3 though
Still also pretty cheesy and/or tacky sonic pallette.
Some purposely so, I think. The electronic drums , particularly the kicks are amazing
Not yet anyway. I heard rumour it's still in development. But what it currently has is robust enough. I made a couple of Lofi EPs just with FLSM (although mastered in AUM). Long before the Wow & Flutter effect was added, I subtly used Pitch LFO in various synths to emulate the effect.
As usual they give updates on things no one has ever asked for! Everyone wants auv3 support and what do they do? A new bank of sounds, congratulations indeed...
FL Mobile is a cross platform app (Windows, Mac, Android, Native FL Studio), with the focus on providing an environment where projects can be started on any platform and carried as-is on their flagship DAW. Of the platforms they support only iOS and MacOS support AUv3.
I'm not defending them - just saying their focus isn't necessarily the same as the iOS "niche" market for that product.
Image-line released these new sound banks, the waveshaper, and the tape effects for free, no IAPs, no subscriptions. FLSM is very robust and well thought out as-is, and these are some nice extras we don't have to pay for.
My question is, did you even purchase the app?
Here is my tutorial for the three newest effects, the Spreader, Wow & Flutter and the Tape Stop.
I also go into automation.
@thesoundtestroom :Thanks Doug..I didn’t realize
Well done @thesoundtestroom Doug! The exact video this thread needed.
Ope, forgot to show this.

This update inspired me to start a new track in FLSM.
My FLM version says 4.5.3 as of now and even the vendors forum talks about 4.5.3…
I own this version of the app that is no longer supported (update up to v3.5.11). Taking them on their “free lifetime updates” policy, what are the chances they’ll give me a code for the new version?
I have been using FL Studio since 2007 on pc, and surely i have boght FLSM on iPad
You lose nothing asking them, they always answer
Will try. Thanks!
UPDATE: I asked them and they gave me a code to the new app. I was also able to restore IAPs.
Excellent. I've used FL Studio since 2003 on PC, and eventually stopped using it around 2016 when I switched 100% to iOS production. I tried FLSM 3 and didn't like it, but in late 2022 I challenged myself to create an EP in it and master it in AUM.

And I came to find out FLSM 4 was far better than FLSM 3 ever was. The way I got the "pitch warble" before the recently-added Wow & Flutter effect was to manipulate pitch LFOs in DirectWave and other synths and to use EQ to get the "old timey" sound.
Thanks to this thread, I was inspired to start a new idea. Here's a current idea I'm still working on.

Created 100% in FLSM, mastered in Logic Pro. Drums are from Black Octopus's "Leviathan 4" pack, and sweep transitions and that one impact sound after the strings in the beginning of the track are all from "Sounds of KSHMR Vol 4". Like I said, FLSM is absolutely capable of amazing tracks in pretty much any Electronic and HipHop genre I can think of.
It'll be nice for Image-Line to add in the AUv3 compatibility, I agree, but as far as sandboxed environments are concerned, one could do worse than FLSM. I'll say FLSM is easier to see and use on an iPhone's smaller screen than, say, Gadget 3. And if one needs other sounds imported into it, there are a couple options -
Another bonus for FLSM is it's VERY easy on battery life. Even when I used my iPhone SE 2 to produce the above EP, the weak-ass battery in that didn't drain much at all. (Koala Sampler seems to drain my battery just a little bit more.)
NO, I'm not some shill. Just sharing my personal experience with FLSM.
Very useful comments @jwmmakerofmusic , thanks
Of course. Just trying to shine some light on what FLSM is capable of as opposed to the one thing it isn't currently able to. (I'm sure AUv3 is coming in the future. That's inevitable. But doesn't stop us from enjoying what's already there.)
I have an e-mail from them from several years back saying they want to keep it a closed system, and so far they’ve stuck to that …..
Fair enough. If they never add AUv3, then it's not a big deal to me. I love FLSM as-is, and Image-Line keep adding more and more excellent content and effects and such.
I do hope they add Grossbeat in some capacity, but it's okay if they don't.
I’ve seen a comment from them that said that they plan to make it auv3 eventually
That's actually encouraging news for those who want AUv3 compatibility in FLSM. To be honest, I'm neutral, where I hope they add AUv3 eventually, but enjoy FLSM without AUv3.

Proof AUv3s aren't needed to create something decent in FLSM in its current state.
