Pure Acid Question

I am new to Jim Audio’s Pure Acid and loving it.
I especially like how the internal keyboard mutes sequenced bass notes when you play/hold a note on the keyboard.
Using pure acid in AUM. I cannot duplicate this action with midi input either from an external keyboard or KB1 for instance.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I would think there would be a way because it is so very good 😎

  • Didn't even know it could do this. Will take a look as well

  • Trying to post a video showing such.

  • I still have not found a way to cause this action from an external to PA keyboard but did learn something.
When hosted in AUM the midi out is affected the same way depending on if you use the internal or external keyboard. It is very handy and effectively stops the bassline when you press a key with a short gate.
What is different about the internal keyboard?
    I work’s similar to a side chain IMHO 👀

  • I have just made a 909 drumpattern in Pure Acid and in Roland MC-707.
I have tried to make the same sound with decay pitch, swing etc...and i have to say they give the same sound. But i will come with a comparison audio.

  • I would like to hear it. I am intrigued with the acid genre. I tried to do it in Drambo but the Drambo learning curve was too steep so far.

    @Bellows
I have made the comparison. At first was quite similar, after checkin in headphones the Pure Acid set to a little beefier.
But both the same. 909 drums dont sound better on MC-707 than Pure Acid drums. I rather like the Pure Acid sound.
First is MC707 the second is the Pure Acid.

I think they sound very much alike. They certainly have good sound both of them. Pure Acid certainly seems handier.
I was hoping someone might chime in on why the external keyboard action is different than the internal. I am a keyboard player interested in live performance. I suspect it may be be that most groovebox aficionados prefer to let the groovebox run without keyboard influence.
I ready to be schooled on this 🤔

  • Hi Folks,
Trying once more to explain my question. I use Pure Acid inside of AUM. Using the keyboard within the Pure Acid map it will play the bass notes and mute the sequenced bass line while the sequence is playing.
However when using another keyboard such as theAUM keyboard or KB1 the note will play only briefly and the sequence is not muted.
Here is a video showing this.

  • I am giving up on trying to duplicate this action in PA because I don’t use the iPad keyboard live. I am going to try to make some kind of gate in AUM to create the same effect.
