KORG Nanokey Studio price decrease?
I don’t think I saw anything here about this. I’m noticing that even brand new Nanokey Studios have gone down significantly in price (they originally retailed at $149 I think, I saw them years later at Sweetwater for $179).
I’m seeing them in various places for ~$129, new. Does this mean 1) They are being discontinued and/or 2) A new version is coming out?

More likely it reflects price pressure from the recent spate of comparable and in some cases better products Chinese competitors at less than 1/2 the price. M-Vave comes to mind, but there are others.
Ha! I had never heard of this, but true that makes sense. I had parted with my Nanokey Studio years ago and I kind of regret it, so it’s nice to see prices have kinda normalized.
Thanks @wim ! Just wasn’t sure if with the release of the new Gadget KORG had some kinda fancy plans for the hardware
It'd be cool if it did mean that, but would be hard to know. I don't think Korg would intentionally let it slip if they were discontinuing the NKS.
Very playable "mini-keys" with just four levels of velocity, lo-res knobs and okay pads. Really solid plastic enclosure. Highly recommended, would be perfect if it had transport controls.
I wish they would release a different colour edition. They have 8 scenes you can programme. It would be cool having two.
I’m seriously thinking about picking it up again especially at this price point.
Ok cool, was just curious if any folks were reading the tea leaves, so to speak… I did enjoy it while I had it, plus the battery life seemed to just go on and on which was awesome
Yeah, with all lights off I guess at least 10-12 hours of operation.
One way of looking at it is, even if they discontinue it, it doesn't stop functioning. It's unlikely an iOS update will break it (though ... it has happened once before), but even then there's Korg is likely to eventually issue a firmware update like they did last time. They won't want the bad will from the installed base.
I still have an Oxygen 8 v2 that is probably 20 years old? I forget. Still works.
Yeah that’s true, it’s a piece of hardware.
This Oxygen 8?! Long gone but yeah worked for well over a decade lol
I still love that it's programmable from the device on the fly. I wish all devices were like that.
