Drambo, BAM, EG Nodes: is there an app that can do 2-way controller communication
I would really love to be able to use my Launchpad X as a step sequencer that is in sync with the currently active track/clip/scene/node (whatever the concept of the app is that has a step/piano roll sequencer in it).
So, you should be able to see the activated steps of a clip, and be able to change them, and when the sequencer is running, you should be able to see the currently playing step advance in sync with the iOS app. And if you hold a step and twist some knobs on a second hardware controller, you should be able to parameter-lock-style make changes to that step.
So, not just for launching clips, and not just for playing the notes live and recording them live, but for actually seeing and editing the step sequencer state visually. So, a bit like Ableton Push, but for an iOS app. I have bought all three and they are all three masterpieces, but none seem to be that far into hardware integration - am I correct? And if so, does anyone know if someone is working on this level of hardware integration?

Optimized for Novation, Korg specifically BAM. Session mode works without settings. The sequencer can be controlled (I don't know how much to the extent that you need). But from a control point of view, BAM is simply gorgeous. Drambo and Egnodes are good too. But from conrol's point of view, for example, I like BAM the most. Although he is not very stable yet. But EgNodes also requires updates. The most stable Drambo.
I don’t know about BAM, but Drambo and EG Nodes don’t do midi feedback.
Thanks for the answer. I do have the novation controllers (LPX and LCXL) and the Korg contollers (both nanokontrol studio contollers) and they do indeed interface to a certain level, but I have not found a way to edit the step sequencers yet. Would be great if that were in the planning. Although I realise that you can just use the iPad screen, which works great, and even has way more functionality, there is something about hands-on hardware control with pads and buttons that makes composing more fun for me. Way less pecking at a tiny screen (which again - the way all three apps work is just great).
Hi Wim, thanks for the answer. I think I read somewhere that Drambo is working on 8x8 pad integration, but have no idea up to what extent.
@jnmns77 : also have a look at my WoodStepper, it may have some of the stuff you are looking for ...

All your controllers are embedded in BAM by default. You can ask the developers about the rest. They will be able to answer your questions.
Drambo can do it but requires massive workarounds. @Gravitas is the man you want to talk to if you wanted to do it.
Official integration is very close. It’s been discussed but hasn’t hit beta yet so I wouldn’t hold my breath but likely out by the summer 24? Just a speculation based on what I know.
