湖の上の霧 - part I

Forcing myself to not stay 18hours in bed.
This piece is a bit rough and needs quite some work.

  • Sounded good as is, feels like quite a "story".
I feel you on the bed thing as I too am fighting with myself at the moment, but I'm avoiding bed altogether bouncing the walls like a zombie instead. Anyway, glad to hear your stuff again, you've been missed.

  • Interesting journey, transition of styles, surprising, but blending well... :+1:

I don't think so, it is already perfect now.

  • The strings and piano are exquisite, and as usual the arrangement is mind-blowingly good.

  • I loved the arial spaciness from the beginning, the fantastic choice of wind instruments and piano complement them perfectly. Interesting voice usage around 7:00–8:00 min. The ending is epic, with those brassy elements. Thank you for sharing. 🤩

  • thank you guys for the kind comments.
still working on the polishing though, that thing sounds bad to me after leaving it rest for a day.

  • I’ve been thinking about you, Joseph, as you’ve been absent.

Lots of suffering in the world, as always. Victor Frankl said that life has no inherent meaning. It’s the meaning we give to it that makes life worth living. He helped a lot of people while he was in four concentration camps, Auschwitz being one of them. He lost both his parents, brother and wife in the war. (lol, just trying to cheer you up).

Your music is great. I’m not saying it should fix things. Just that it’s plenty to give life meaning. You’re in a beautiful family, after all. A worldwide family of artists. Not many good ones, maybe only 50 million or so. The Jews say god doesn’t hit you with all his sticks at once. We know that’s not true but it’s fun to think about.

Kierkegaard wrote 16 books in about five years. He thought his grandfather had brought a curse on everyone in his family. They all seemed to die in their early thirties. He thought he had to get it all out.
He died at 42. He thought becoming self aware was more important than amassing knowledge. Suffering can make us more self aware if that’s the meaningful life we attach to it.

The Germans say the situation is serious but not hopeless. The Austrians say the situation is hopeless but not serious. Camus says sort of the same thing. He just called life absurd and we just have to put up with it.He wrote this…

Believe me there is no such thing as great suffering, great regret, great memory.... everything is forgotten, even a great love. That's what's sad about life, and also what's wonderful about it. There is only a way of looking at things, a way that comes to you every once in a while.

He died in a car crash at 46, and, oh yeah, he had tuberculosis for most of his life.

If life wasn’t suffering Buddha would have been out of a job. Sleeping is good, my friend. So is getting up and making beautiful music. Stay the course.

  • Beautiful! The flute is magnificent and I love the arrangement. Also that bass build up at around 8:20!

  • I listened twice back to back. Don’t rework it; extend it another 20-30 minutes.

  • This is an amazing piece @jo92346

  • Thank you all for listening.
@Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr I finished the drafts for parts 2, 3 and 4. Two more to record.
