Midi Timing Problem with GR16
I'm trying an "experiment": launching sequences from GR16 to FL Studio but I'm encountering Timing problems. I connected the iPad with the CCK to the TD3 via USB, then from the midi out port of the TD3 I enter the midi in of the PC sound card. When I do "Play" from the GR16 everything seems to work, but after a few seconds it loses time, and even when I touch anything on the GR16 or on Fl Studio I notice midi transmission problems. What could be the cause? Thank you

if you are using the DAW as the slave midi device then you will probably get midi timing issues.
the DAW has to handle audio and midi and all the latency compensation of plugins etc.. never works well as a midi slave.
maybe when midi 2.0 comes along it will work better.
yes, I had thought this too, but in reality the iPad and Fl Studio do not go into "sync", in the sense that the GR16 only has to play the vst, but the play/stop is internal to the GR16, Fl studio only acts as container for tools
If the TD3 is an external 'instrument' (I suppose Behringer TD3) it might be causing the sync issues too...
...so the title should really be, I have sync issues with FL running on my PC with an instrument acting as a midi-pass thru device between my iPad and the PC...
Good Luck!
(I won't ever touch a Windows PC even if getting paid to do so).
I found out what the problem is: FL Studio! He can't manage timing accurately! I installed Studio One and it's the bomb! Don't miss a beat!
Windows is rock solid, so let's not say the same boring Windows VS Mac stuff...
. deleted .
I had outdated information.
In what sense? I've been working on Windows and music for at least 20 years, never had a problem, EVER.
Huh? The post of mine I deleted had nothing to do with that subject. I had mistakenly posted outdated information regarding FL Studio midi clock slaving. You can’t delete posts, so I made a clarification in case anyone did happen to read it before I discovered the error.
No, I would never get into Windows vs. Mac. Both religion and politics are off limits here. 😂
GR16 on an iPad Air 2 and Presonus StudioOne 6 on WINDOWS PC :-D this is a very small test :-D
but is it possible to use multiple midi inputs? I have to have the AKAI MK3 and at the same time also have Midi Sync. It would be possible?
Yes. iOS supports multiple MIDI ports from different interfaces. I'm mostly using Bluetooth MIDI.
in GR16 i can select Only ONE midi in :-( in Korg Gadget ALL midi in
another problem : in AUM the "mute sync" function dont work :-(
