  • I missed this one when it dropped… really nice tribute to a lot of horror film scores. I get a lot of John Carpenter “Halloween” vibes. I must admit I passed on the whole “Freddy” franchise… mostly because I’ve only seen a handful of movies without my wife and she can’t handle the slasher films. I say Halloween before we met. But most of these horror tropes like moving a pattern by 1/2 steps was invented by Bernard Herman for his Fantasy, SciFi and Horror work. Of course most film composers owe a debt to Gustav Holst and “The Planets”.

  • Thanks @McD. I wonder how many moviegoers think about the music in movies. It’s invaluable but probably not given enough weight with viewers as to how much it contributes. Evident if you watch without sound.

I’m finding I like to watch all TV with subtitles (closed captioning provided for the deaf… thank you for that). I also prefer content I can rewind to avoid missing something important.

    I do the same!
