Best mpe controller app in 2024
Hi, I’m looking for a mpe controller app. In your opinion what’s the best one? And there’s one with a pad view?
Comments
Depends what you need. I would start here.
https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/tc-data/id883788579?l=en-GB
https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/geoshred-control/id1336247116?l=en-GB
https://numericalaudio.com/kb1/
If you don't need it to be auv3, this is pretty nice:

One of the best......Woodtroller from @woodman
https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/woodtroller/id6445840179
Most used over time for me are Velocity KB and KB1.
That could be a good one! Thanks
Thanks, the first one seems really hard to understand, but kb1 is nice and complete but there’s not a pad grid view. I tried Geoshred but with this orrible GUI I cannot play.
Probably I can give try on this one.
KB-1 has a kind of pad-view with rectangular pads, if you choose the String-Layout and add more rows.
Horrible? I am not saying it is anything special but I wonder what makes it horrible to you ?
Just a my brain thingh, this app looks like a ‘90s videogame and it’s difficult to me play notes on something that I don’t like
KB-1 has midi bluetooth?
You might like to look at Salome, which can be used as a controller as well as an instrument in its own right. It has a grid view.
Most apps can midi Bluetooth using this free app,

Ooh nice!!
Kebarp's Keboard bonus plugin now has the MPE controller! If you have Kebarp, you already own Keboard. The MPE mode lets you set the key, scale, octave and supports both horizontal (pitch bend) and vertical (CC74) movements per note with polyphony. You can also use Keboard as a normal mono or poly keyboard, or send MIDI CCs with the pads.
