Boost ==> UPDATED
Hi,
I have different presets for my guitar. I use Loopy Pro as my multi-fx processor. I have a distortion preset but I also need a "boost" for leads. There are several options; but I may have left off some things:
- Volume fader and/or automated fader
- I have WOOTT
- I have FabFilter with upward compression
Any thoughts on what might be best for a rock lead "boost"?
UPDATE:::: Sorry.... I am using the Eventide Crush Station in LP for my distortion lead, but I need extra boost - and by boost here I mean volume not distortion. I love the "tone /distortion sound" from the Crush Station; but the over all volume is lower coming out of the plugin. So I need to boost the volume after it comes out of the plugin. I am not sure why it lowers the volume some, as it distorts the sound, but it does.
Thanks
AJ

An overdrive plugin set to low or no drive and high or maximum level. Nembrini 808 Overdrive Pro, Analog Rack Screamer, and Clon Minotaur are my go-to's.
You'll probably get more input to this thread if you clarify the title a bit. "Guitar Lead Boost Options" or something like that...
Are you wanting clean volume or distortion that makes the signal seem louder. (Guitarists often use boost to describe pedals that add volume without adding distortion themselves though they may result in distortion by overdriving preamps that come after them.
That's a good question @espiegel123. I was assuming a clean boost going into an amp (which would increase distortion), not just an increase in volume.
wouldn't byod be enough?
