Ruismaker FM Vs. Elektron Syntakt

I am wondering if anyone here can confirm that Ruismaker FM sounds like an Elektron Syntakt? I’m looking for a synth on IOS that can sound similar if possible.

Comments

  • It can certainly sound similar but you'll be disappointed if you expect it to be anywhere near as flexible. Certainly cheaper.

  • I hear ya. What do you mean by flexible? The synth is so pricey , so is it worth it ?

no it does not ... Syntakt is way much more than just simole drum synth. It can't be even remotely compared, it's completely different playground. Syntakt is super powerfull with multiple different synth engines (both analog and digital) where FM drums are just few of them ..

You can't do this with Ruismaker FM :-)

    ok..clarified! Thanks:)
After that demo, I think I'll save my money.

  • I would think it would have more in common with the Digitakt, but I'm not familiar with Ruismaker FM.

Elektron gear is always about the whole being greater than the sum of the parts, anyway. IMO it is worth the investment in your creative process if the instrument appeals to you. I've enjoyed my journey with Elektron, even though most of it isn't with me anymore (Eurorack is the black hole that swallows all else).

This seems to be the normal pattern these days..

definitely agree with the sentiment of if you hear something that calls to you its best to just save up and get that piece of gear, trying to find a similar bit of gear never scratches that itch IMO.

we live in a time where if you really really like a bit of hardware you can order it online, get it in a few days and if you don't like it send it back for a refund within 30 days... at least in Europe.

i have so many bits of gear where you can even get a software clone doing exactly the same thing, but it is never the same vibe.

Can be a software only thing too, like different DAW's, somethings are just a better experience on one DAW than the other.
