Album release: "魂の中の霧" (Kokoro no Naka no Kiri, fog in the soul)

all made in logic pro for ipad, with some audio stems imported from Nanostudio 2 and Logic pro for mac.
The "semi final" version is on bandcamp: as usual I might revisit it in a few days with clean ears, and maybe adjust a few things.

"魂の中の霧" (Kokoro no Naka no Kiri) is an instrumental journey that transcends the realms of sound and emotion. This album, woven with delicate threads of synth and the ethereal whispers of an alto flute, invites you to explore the mystique within the veils of mist.

Each track is a chapter in this atmospheric odyssey of sonic landscapes that transport you to different realms of existence.

From the serene mists lingering over the tranquil waters of "湖の上の霧" (Ko no Ue no Kiri) to the mystical depths within the heart of the woods in "森の中の霧" (Mori no Naka no Kiri), the album unveils a tapestry of emotions through its sonic storytelling.

"霧の中の街" (Kiri no Naka no Machi) brings forth the enigma concealed within urban fog, while "霧の山" (Kiri no Yama) ascends to the lofty heights, cloaked in the mystery of mountainous realms.
"ケシ畑の霧" (Keshi Batake no Kiri) envelops you in the hazy embrace of a poppy field, and the eponymous track "霧" (Kiri) serves as the enigmatic centerpiece, where the mist transcends mere atmospheric phenomenon to become a metaphor for the intangible essence of the soul.

"魂の中の霧" is not merely an album; it is a meditative exploration, an introspective journey guiding you through the veiled corridors of emotion and perception: immerse yourself in the soul-stirring embrace of the mist within.

I certainly did enjoy the other tracks. Not often I sit and listen to a whole album in one go nowadays! You have created a masterpiece and something to be proud of.

  • Very well put together, Joseph. 2:30 was a great transition and Part 6 brought it all home. Sometimes a state of mind is just a state of mind. Creativity comes from a deeper place. We must endeavor to persevere.

  • Thank you @AlterEgo_UK . For the first time, I kinda like this release. but I'm in a real effing weird state of mind, I might not be really thinking straight.

@LinearLineman you're right, states of minds are just state of mind. No idea where creativity comes from. whatever I do or don't do, however i feel or not feel, nothing seem to be related to when I'm creative. I just am , or I aint creative, irregardless of anything else. When there is no music in my head, perservering is futile.

  • You're one of the best composers I've ever heard and this album is a masterpiece. Just incredible work, I can hardly believe that I've come across this on a forum. Amazing stuff.

  • This album is concealed in a mystic fog. When you put this on the play, surroundings get clouded by mist, but not elemental ones. And you never get lost because some ethereal flute is leading your way. And what a fantastic journey it is, with such an admirable ending.

    Magnificent! Bravo! 🤩

  • Thank you from the bottom of my heart @richardyot, @Luxthor

  • I purposely didn’t listen to the individual tracks, preferring to wait for the ‘album’.
    I wasn’t disappointed … a thing of beauty.
Track 4 and and the second section of track 5 were exceptional.
In the distant days of LPs and CDs when buying was often an act of faith and the act of unwrapping and placing the vinyl/disc on the turntable/transport was almost like a religious experience I would have been very happy if this had emerged from the speakers 😊

  • Incredible album. Absolutely beautiful music that takes the listener on a journey, each track to a different place. Well done.

  • Thank you @GeoTony @Dav

i miss the days of LPs, beautiful BIG artwork, the ceremony of placing the vinyl on the turntable. Indeed like a religious experience.

  • It is absolutely beautiful. I love how you transition so smoothly between classical and synthetic sounds. Also the glitchy/granular textures that you sometime add so much to the composition. On top of that perfect mastering, sounds good even on some crappy headphones lol. I really like your stuff!

  • thanks @unlink
logic made the mastering for me. that was a real life changer: I always hated that last step in making music, and I wasn't very good at it. Just that auto mastering is worth the subscription IMHO.

Still on iOS 16 and not planning to spend on subscriptions right now, but that's good to know!

  • I don't care for subscriptions. I spend much more in booze and smoke anyways.
