  • It is here and it’s seriously good. I love it. It has so many uses…. on its own, jamming with your other instruments, generating ideas…. etc

  • I’m gonna try it .

AI, subscription-based, trap sound packs? The old guys are gonna love this ;)

$2.92 per month if you subscribe yearly though..

  • It looks interesting, but I'm trying to understand how the IAP's work and the subscription and if a subscription is required. From the app store:

    _"PREMIUM PLANS & PURCHASES

You have the option to purchase Sample Packs and features individually or unlock everything at once via a subscription plan."
    _

  • Have always used previous versions of this app with my own sounds and loops. I have no interrest in sound packs what so ever. I sure hope we are able to do a one time purchase of the full functional base app. Please.

No subscription necessary. But a one month subscription would be a cheap way to find out which if any of the IAPs would be worth buying.

Almost the same price as Logic Pro - but perhaps that kind of comparison is unjustified against ReMixLive v8…

Yes, pretty sure it is unjustified. I don’t think anyone should be comparing anything pricewise with the Logic Pro sub price. Perhaps in terms of buyer expectations, but certainly not in terms of what is fair. Firstly because Apple have a potentially very large market there - both from existing Logic users, and just from the general free publicity Apple gets for pretty much anything they do, as they are such movers and shakers. Secondly, because that price is basically subsidized and they are likely losing money on it. They don’t mind because they hope it might sell more iPads or, more likely, sell more desktop licenses for Logic.

Indie dev products, or even products by big companies, yet still smaller than Apple, should not be expected to be priced according to the same yardstick. In general, the more niche an app, the more reasonable a high price is, whether for subs or purchases.

$3 a month for a subscription, if they are regularly updating what’s available, really doesn’t sound unreasonable to me. Not that I have much interest personally in apps like this, but I feel it’s important to make this point. I know you may agree with it in part, so it is not really directed at you, it is just riffing off your last comment. Cheers!

  • I’m sure they gave a weeks free trial in the not too distant past - is this no longer the case?

    I believe they still do.

And I’ll add to 2 cents here and say I really do think this is a great app. The developers are very active and engaging with the community/users and there are even more (AUV3) big things coming. I think it has a lot of potential as it stands.

It says $49.99 a year on mine, or $9.99 a month - am I looking at a different tier or just bad at math?

I did not continue my Subscription after a year with Remix Live... Hoped to see some form of Auv3 within that year, as mentioned by the company (over 1 year now)...

Hopefully, they will do the Auv3 thing... could be nice...

Edit... I think it is hell getting back between AUM and Remix as an IAA, without a 'Switch Button'.... as LaunchPad has..

Yep - that is true. A button is needed. It can be grim. Actually flicking an unwanted pad on as you swipe it up 😩
I think that the Dev is yet to fully realise that a great many people don’t plan on using it as a closed standalone instrument- the in app feedback will help hopefully.

  • @RajahP :I didn’t realize it wasn’t auv3 ! Thanks

Well, If we cannot have Auv3, yet.. that Switch Button is so important for IAA apps.. I found myself reaching out for Launchpad more, even as RemixLive has such rich features (Separate Track, etc.) which Launchpad don’t..

Yeah that’s what I was getting at with the “it has so much potential” comment. I hope the devs will see it through and fully realize that in the coming months. It’s still very fun and useful standalone and I like the app a lot.

But Ampify has it down to a science with Launchpad and the was it interacts with Blocs Wave too.

And your Lauchpad IAP packs automatically show up in Blocs Wave for use as well. Buy an IAP pack once and get to use it in 2 apps.

  • @Telstar5 said:

Thanks - showing that for me now too. Not a bad price to give it a try at, but I doubt I’d use it much. I don’t use Launchpad anymore - I just feel kinda dirty using it and everything sounds so generic. Same with sound packs and loops in general - I’ll use some drum loops now and again but anything more feels icky.

  • @RajahP : Hey BTW are you still big on using Zenbeats? And look what I found on the remix Live discord page .

Remixlive can now host Audio Units directly into its DRUM pads, allowing you to use your favorite AUv3's for your Sequences.

  • I was very interested but so called 'AI remix was so limited that I gave up. I could cut the song for max 4 or 5 parts :(

  • Tried to restore purchases. No success. Might look at it again doe the track again to see if that is working properly.

    Haven’t touched Zenbeat for a while.. I can’t find that Auv3 feature ..
The generate feature is nice, goes well with Lumbeat suite.. Hopefully we get that ‘switch’ button for AUM.

  • I keep getting this message when I’m trying to generate a pack - but my internet connection is fine. I’ve switched off the iPad and deleted then reinstalled. Any ideas?

  • Yeah, I was getting this error on the desktop as well...but I am clearly online as you can read this message now :)
