The beta was stable for me last month. I love so much Live and I tried love Logic to try the hybrid workflow from iPad to Mac but it's impossible. Live is sooooo much cleaner and so much flexible for me.

  • The beta has been really solid for me. Hoping for a few updates for push standalone in 12 but still amazing.

nice little surprise that they have a song in the released version, the master chain is awesome. Nice use of the
    'roar' device.

  • weird the demo song disappeared when i reopened live? can someone save the master chain when they open live 12 for the first time and post it here, please?

  • what are the coolest features you guys are excited about in 12? i’m excited to get home and update

On Windows, the Demo Song is at C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Suite\Resources\Core Library\Lessons\Demo Songs
I agree, nice use of Roar on the Main Bus.

  • The new MIDI processors and generators are useful.
    https://www.ableton.com/en/live-manual/12/midi-tools/#midi-tools

The 'triple' view is helpful, even on a 15" laptop screen.

The new browser if hugely useful. And the 'similar sounds' works better than expected.

  • Best update since I started using Ableton with Live 7. Been using 12 for a few weeks and loving it.

  • Installed Ableton the first time on a M1, holding out and avoiding the beta since december when I've upgraded the license 10 to 12. Since I haven't used 11 there's quite a bit to discover.

Anyone here using Drambo in Live? On opening it it asked a weird question about selecting an "on my ipad" folder location which I couldn't find.

I use Drambo in Live. I don’t recall it doing that but I used it standalone for a while first.

I can’t get stuff done without Live. Everything else feels annoying/hard.

  • I wish I had the extra coin. I haven’t gone deep enough in Live to warrant yet another upgrade, after buying the last few. I swore I’d learn to use it to its fullest when I went from 10 to 11, and still working on that. But I did appreciate the MPE capabilities.

  • Would it be normal that there is no upgrade price for the Intro version? Coming from 11 Intro I see no price change when logging in.

How do you use it in conjunction with the iPad version? I can't even figure out how to save a Drambo project from within the iPad version to the cloud. Do you move the projects manually out of the iPad Drambo folder?

I just airdrop projects to my mac.

I wish there was a solution for a single source of truth, without ending up with two files and dropping them back and forth. I probably won't use the desktop version that much.

Yes. Pretty sure that is normal for the Intro version since it’s already so discounted.

  • Will definitely upgrade at some point, but probably not for a while.

I think it will set iOS developers on fire... the iPad seems like the perfect environment for these MIDI tools...
    and Ableton NOTE...

  • Be been having some fun fartin around with the new midi stuff. Challenging myself to just use a laptop and no controller. It’s been pretty fun! I’m really looking forward to the new performance pack and figuring out how to build a song on the fly with it. Been buried with work so haven’t gotten to dive in like I’d like. Hopefully that changes in a few weeks.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was discounted because of the limited features. I personally think it sucks that there is no upgrade price for it.

It definitely sucks, but you have to get them some credit for marketing clarity. Calling it Intro is a clever way of saying it's a one time deal, since you can't meet someone for the first time—twice. It's all about the upsell, unfortunately.

  • I've so far been just using the free "light" versions. 😂

They keep coming out with lite versions of each release. I don't see one for 12 yet, but if the past is any indication it'll probably surface eventually.

Yes it's possible and should run.

When you see this message, is there a folder selection window, where you can select Drambo folder? (then you should select Documents/Drambo)

No, there's just a confirmation button:

There is no such location on my Mac or iCloud.

After pressing this button is when a Finder window opens under documents, but my Drambo folder is under iCloud which is one level higher than Documents. I've just selected that Drambo folder but I'm still unsure if this was right.

Maybe I have to add the location in Finder first if it exists, I've barely messed withthe system yet since I've installed Sonoma.

Edit: Just had a look and there's defintely no such location option in finder settings.

    @Antos3345

When I try to acess contents of that added Drambo iCloud folder from Drambo, like Airdropped projects or Patchstorage stuff there's nothing there.

Could it be that the dev and others aren't using the Documents folder in/with iCloud?

  • I got it to work . I think its from your finder, not iCloud.
