iOS8 and USB class compliant MIDI interfaces
After updating my iPad Air to iOS8, my class compliant USB/MIDI cable (CME U2MIDI) is no longer detected by any MIDI app. On my MacBook Pro, the cable is still working -- so I assume, the interface is NOT defective. Strange: If I connect my class compliant Korg Microkey Keyboard via CCK (original from Apple) to my iPad everythings works as before. Any ideas or experiences with USB/MIDI interfaces under iOS8? Any hints which USB/MIDI cable is working fine with iOS8?

Hi @klangsulfat - I've just made our Apple contact aware of this issue. Hopefully they're working on it.
Thanks. I sent this issue via feedback form to Apple.
I checked before ordering a CCK and apparently the E-Mu 2x2 works with ios8 so i assume the 1x1 does. I can post an update when i get the CCK connected if you like.
Yes the E-Mu xMidi 2x2 works no problem.
i have the same problem with my usb midi
I could read about similar problems in some other forums. USB/MIDI seems to be definitely broken in iOS 8, at least for some USB devices. Maybe because of the implementation of Bluetooth MIDI?
thanks for the headsup, one more on the long list of flaws.Seems i'll stay on 7 for quite a while...
Hi. Can anyone there please tell me if there is no problem of compatibility with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and iOS8 ? (iPad 4, iPad Air, original Apple CCK).
In advance thank you!
I'm wondering if the M Audio Uno midi interface works with iOS 8.
If Apple keeps breaking compatibility with peripherals every time there's a new iOS release companies are going to stop making them. I think the one year cycle for updates is too short anyway, two years would be more reasonable IMHO.
