On the (fm)QT: Doveland, Wisconsin
You remember what happened to Doveland back in the 90’s, right?
You know how in computer games hackers sometimes find the cut content? But most ordinary people don’t?
Still think you’re not living in the matrix?
A Decent Sample of a bell, four instances of FMQT (it even has waifus!), all sequencing of notes and fx handled internally by the overdubbing, and a sprinkle of Alteza.
I found myself toggling through the live macro recorder and back to the instrument and fx panels, getting a noise I liked, then tweaking it, and recording the tweak, till it all ran fine. You can get a lot wilder with it than I did here, but I resisted the urge to make noise for the sake of it and kept things relatively sane. It’s certainly interesting, and not just because of the aesthetics.

Very nice, though I’m glad the app’s size was pointed out as it might bust my iPad at this point, though it does work on Mac too so maybe that’s a nice Friday treat…
I remember the town name, but for some reason can’t find it on a map…
This really evokes the feeling of walking through a ghostly, empty town. Detached, and lost. Excellent work!
@Krupa : just shy of half a gig for me, but to be honest, looking at most of my installed apps they come in close to that.
@michael_m : Ah, so you do remember But I think a friend of a friend worked in that big government research facility there, though she could never talk about it. Might have been the NDA those FBI looking guys had made her sign, or maybe just the headaches she got all the time. Probably from that deep hum that used to come from the site all hours of the day and night. Some people said they could hear it way over the other end of town, though others said they couldn’t hear it at all. And then there was those strange colours in the sky over the plant during storms. The many, many storms. And did anyone ever mention the tracks they found, that day old Bob went out with his two dogs and a thirty ought six, after what he thought must be a big buck deer he said had been wrecking his fence in the back forty, and never came home again… ? Though the dogs did, all cut up, and they never did stop their howling, until even the sheriff couldn’t stand it anymore, and put them out of their misery…
Started playing track.
Read Doveland wiki
Track finished.
So now I know.
@fpc: But do they know you know? Be careful…
I’ll see you all beyond the obsidian snow. I’ll meet you at the Hekate Station. Tell no one.
Dyatlov Pass incident track next please. Fortein times fun.
I am indeed aware of that event. Lovecraftian solutions are clearly one explanation for it…
Almost fell asleep to this one, then again .. I do that all the time anyway (one thing I despise about getting old(er))
Didn’t anyone ever warn you about falling asleep to one of @Svetlovska ’s tracks??? You’re lucky you’re still here to tell the tale…
More relaxing than disturbing, very good👍
