Changing Mozaic Metroplex Sequencer to be 16 Steps?
I have zero experience coding anything in mozaic, and have no experience coding period. I really love the Metroplex sequencer in Mozaic (https://patchstorage.com/metroplex/) but wish I could play with 16 Steps instead of 8. Would this be relatively easy to adapt?
Comments
That would be very, very difficult based on what I know of the script.
That script is a work of art though, I have to say!
Ah well, I guess I will have to start on something simple. Thanks wim!
Now I got curious
Metroplex is indeed a work of art. The 8 step limit is mainly dictated by the lack of enough sliders. If you want 16 steps, you would have to switch between two sets. In my experience with "virtual analog" sequencers this is not very comfortable.
There are apps like MidiDreams, that are pretty versatile analog style sequencers with 16 or more steps.
And the Metroplex code is a pretty complex piece of art. Instead of modding the step number, introduce switching etc., it might be easier to implement a mechanism that allows it to cascade multiple instances of metroplex so you can have 16 steps on the screen. This could be done by adding a feature that allows the sequencer to be clocked and controlled by incoming notes or CC messages.
One instance of Metroplex could send these clock and control messages, and the following one is the receiver. A bit like it is possible to cascade digital shift registers.
Arggh - another Mozaic project starts occupying my mind....
Hehe, ThankS for the educational response. I have mididreams. But I keep going back to metroplex because of just how fun it is!
