JWM - San Juanito de Mi Tierra (Ecuadorian Flute Music meets Reggaeton in Koala)

So the next track I'm releasing has no cuss words and in fact is 100% instrumental. ;) This one was produced in Koala Sampler a few weeks ago and mastered in Logic. I sampled in various melodic oneshots into Koala via AUM, and the drums were from this one drum machine pack in the KB6 collection (although I can't bloody remember which pack it was, lol).

Anyways I hope you all enjoy this track.

  • Not quite sure I understand the title: “San Juanito of my Land”? Did you use a translation app to get that? Might be idiomatic I guess, but I’m sure my literal translation is correct.

It’s a good mashup of styles. At first I was thinking about that South Park episode with the guinea pigs, but thankfully nothing like the boys’ effort at Peruvian music. 😂 Definitely the sort of music I can imagine seeing a bunch of drunk spring-breakers going crazy over.

It seems a lot of Ecuadorian and Peruvian flute groups have at least one song called "San Juanito de Mi Tierra". Couple examples...

So, I made up my own melody and called it that title.

LOL! But yeah, I love this style of music, and Reggaeton beats always seem to fit the style super well.

  • Very cool. We went to see the Bob Marley movie last week. I would tone it down a little bit and just let it flow. Just my two cents. Peace, bro.

Baile funk? I don't think I've heard of that genre yet, or maybe I've heard that music but never knew the name of the genre. :) Got a couple examples mate?

Baile is the Spanish word for ‘dance’ (not sure if that helps).

Puedo hablar español muy bien, amigo. I know how to speak Spanish and know what "baile" means. :) I'm just not sure I heard of that particular genre before, lol.

    Ah, no se. Yo también.

  • @jwmmakerofmusic baile funk is the brazilian equivalent of reggaeton, party music from the favelas. I’ll share you some links, there’s plenty of crap to be honest (as with reggaeton) but there’s the occasional stuff I like.
And it’s all about ass shaking, that’s what I like the most

  • This is from the very beginning, I’ll share how things are atm but I think anyone willing should start with the basics

  • When I first heard this like 20 years ago I knew I was hearing the birth of a new genre. Maybe the world would be left better without it but that’s another discussão
