John Carpenter is still rocking it - with his son

My love for his films is only matched by my love for his music. And he is still making the music.

  • That’s really cool! It’s his son and adopted son who make up the rest of the band isn’t it? I know they toured pre-COVID and I didn’t find out until the tour was ended. Would love to have caught them live.

I assume you have, but if not, check out all of his ‘Lost Themes’ albums - they are really good.

  • That was great. Do we know if John filmed the film noir scenes ?

  • Awesome! The Thing is my favorite horror movie! I love Carpenter’s work.

  • Very cool indeed! I just felt a tiny pang of envy, having those resources (and knowledge)

  • When I was younger, I envied this guy so much. He smoked throughout the day while making incredible thrillers and playing synthesizers.
Then he went home to Adrienne Barbeau.

You know…I still envy John Carpenter.

The way you phrased that it sounded like he just died, since Adrienne Barbeau died some time ago... I had to quickly check. Yes, he's still alive.

Correction: I confused her with another actress and I'm glad to report she's still alive. Sorry about that.

No. I wasn’t aware that she had died. She turned in some great guest appearances 10-15 years ago. Rest in peace.
John Carpenter’s life of movie-making, Moogs and Arps with lots of switches and dials, copious weed, and the luscious Miss Barbeau seemed like paradise on earth to thirteen-year-old me.
    Honestly, it still does.

How embarrassing... I mistook her for another actress. She is still very much alive. Sorry about that. I must drink more coffee next time.
