That’s a hard question as they are all great in their own way. Why not d/l the demos and try them out? RRS is one of the few who let you demo their apps on iOS.
I have the CL 1 compressor, I don't often use compressors but this really has a nice and distinctive character.
Hate to be “that” guy but BUY THEM ALL ..they’re all fantastic
But my favorites..
Comp 609
EQ173
EQP-1A
EQ3
Ivoks
Then there’s the BUS buddies..
CL1
The Passive EQ
SA60
RRS Fuse
So many but they’re all great
Ivoks is so nasty. Brutal synth.
I have most of them, probably use the CL 1 compressor the most lately, but hard to pick a fav. Maybe it’s whatever I’m using at the time. They are all great. I’ve no regrets of buying any.
Ivoks and the Polyvoks filter
Passive EQ collection
EQ173
Comp60
SA60
thank you!:)
I think it comes down to the genres you are working in and what gaps you might have in your current app collection. Are you looking for the warm bass bloom of a Pultec? The fast release punch plus character of the Comp 609? Etc. Most of these releases are emulations of classic hardware so there is a lot of info about the original device uses out there (you probably already know this but might be useful info for others).
I guess I'll try em all (when time allows)
they all seem to have trial.
thank you!
looking for a good sounding quick to dial eq for live acts
that gives character to the sound (ambient) so with saturation etc
and for a glue compressor actually...
I have plenty here but for some reason still don't like any EQ and compressor I have...
So I look for a chain for master.
Ivoks synth and the filter, and the Soviet compressor (CL1) are my favorites. They’re all free to try though with a 5 minute demo in AUV3 mode that can be reset however many times you want. So I’d say get them all to test and then keep the ones you like.
