Groove Rider drum beat advice
Hi
Hope I've come to the right place. Any help appreciated!
Using Groove Rider mainly to create drum backing tracks to play guitar over using Loopy Pro. Mastered doing this to a basic level but how do I:
- create the effect of a snare drum being hit with a brush rather than drumstick
- reduce/increase velocity of drum beat
- accent a drum beat within a bar
Really like Groove Rider but is Drumstix better for this type of adjustment?
Thanks in anticipation
Mike

To have the sound of a brushed snare, you need to choose a different snare sample. I am not sure if GR16 had any bushed hits . If not, you can load your own.
See the Grooverider manual to see how to adjust the velocity of notes in the sequencer.
It’s also worth having a look at the groove templates it comes with. You can find them in the part settings menu
After you've found some good brushed snare drum samples, this is where you can edit the velocity for each step:
If you want multiple variations of a drum hit on the same track, you can string them all together into a wave file, load it in GR16, slice it and have up to 16 different hits available on the same snare drum track. I can imagine that such variations are very welcome when using a brushed snare, right?
Thanks for the advice

A tip for variation is putting provability on the hits, also you can have fills on the pattern if you mark the note as "fill" on the editor and then press the shift button
Thanks that is helpful
