I take tea my dear

Having listened to Joseph’s ( @jo92346 ) beautiful coffee themed album ( https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/59847 ) where each track is only a minute or so long I was inspired to create my own short track… it just creeps over two minutes 😊

SWAM Clarinet played with GeoShred over a backing provided by 4 * Decent Sampler Chord Organ and a DS Udu (percussion). One Piano Motif plays all of the backing. To create a bit of variety, in between PM and each Chord Organ is a Rozeta Scaler with its Pre Transpose parameter being modified by a Rozeta LFO.

  • Really nice clarinet lines, and something about this does make me think of tea!

  • It’s much sparser than I would have guessed from the setup. Seems like one organ could have played it. Nice trick with the lfo changing the inversions. Very very clever.

  • Thanks @michael_m and @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr .
I think the sparseness is because Scaler was set to a different scale than Piano Motifs and also set to reject notes so some notes are filtered out.
In this case I think you’re right @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr , I could have used one organ although I did have different organs panned left and right which I would have lost.
I think I went for the four organs because in the past with different instruments I’m sure I’ve had issues with notes on / off when being driven by multiple midi streams.

  • Sounds really classical. frenq

  • I like this - it sounds very much like having chai somewhere in the British empire somewhere idk lol, but nice tabla

  • Nice. I listed to this drinking coffee, but enjoy the cup of tea too. Sometimes spareness is more, this one is a great example. I swear if I even get some extra spending money I’m going to but some of those SWAM instruments - they are so expressive.

  • Quite quirky, like a mellow version of the Mad Hatter's tea party, the artwork fits the tune perfectly!

  • Thanks @Frenq , @yellow_eyez , @Dav and @richardyot 👍
The percussion is actually the free ‘ Schlagwerk U78 Side Skin Udu’ from the PianoBook website but it does sound very much like a Tabla.
I’m happy with quirky Richard. The picture is created by NightCafe and the prompt was to create a tea party in the style of Jackie Morris, a writer and illustrator who produces some beautiful books.

  • I'm listening on my office speakers so I'm probably missing a lot. The clarinet sounds really nice. I'll give another listen in headphones when I get tonight. BTW - I decided to have tea instead of coffee this morning, based on your song. I forgot how good it was.
