Koala AUV3 state saving - samples not loading until app opened?
I can’t tell if I’m missing something or if this is just the behavior of the app. When I use koala in any host and save the project, only the first sample slot is loaded upon reloading the host project. The other slots do not trigger until I open the koala auv3 instance. This is a major annoyance, as I can’t just open a project and play a track, I have to reopen each koala instance.
Any ideas here? Can anyone corroborate?

This is my experience with midi sample triggering of koala loaded in a Loopy pro set. If i open the loopy set nothing will trigger with Koala sampler until i open the instance of it.
A hassle, but i only use one instance in a project usually so i haven't thought about it much.
Building on what Tentype said, you could set up follow actions for the 'Project load' action to automatically open any/all instances of e.g. Koala upon opening project.
Better to take the time to set that up once than to open instances manually repeatedly.
To do that, open the Control settings menu and select Project-wide follow actions.
Then select Load Project, and add an Open Effect Interface/ AU interface action for every Koala instance.
You could set it all up to also close them all slightly after, or you could make a button that closes them all, or toggles open/close. Etc.
For what it’s worth, I use Koala hosted in MiRack and it loads and plays all samples without having to do so. So I’m not sure it’s a Koala issue.
I have had this issue in Drambo and Cubasis.
I have reported it to the dev ( i think …. 🥴. )
I’ve seen that on Cubasis too. Haven’t tried on Drambo.
I mostly use Drambo, but tested in Nanostudio 2 to be sure. Thanks all!
I see the same behaviour in NS2 as well (iPhoneXR, ios17.0.3)
Happens in Nodes as well.
I submitted a inquiry directly to elfaudio.
Yah I was looking forward to some Koala/NS2 projects but this halted things.
That’s strange. Now I’m wondering why it doesn’t happen in MiRack. I’ve been using it in all projects since MiRack got Auv3 hosting as my drum sampler.
