Modes and Months- A Weird Observation
Found this on the web today and couldn’t think of anywhere to share it but here:
"Have you ever noticed that the keyboard pattern of 7 white notes and 5 black notes to make an octave is the same as the calendar pattern of 7 long months and 5 short months to make a year? Not just the raw numbers but also the pattern in which they fall, see picture.
You will be familiar with the pattern on a keyboard. We normally think of it as starting with C, the white keys making the scale of C Major. But if we put that pattern on a circle we get the pattern shown in the drawing attached. And, if this of the seven 31 day months as corresponding to the white notes is used then we have exactly the same pattern for the year except starting in January the F month instead of August the C month.
I can't find this written or discussed anywhere at all which is frankly a little spooky.
This implies that a year beginning with a long month can be thought of as a musical mode. Bear with me if this isn't obvious.
Modes are best explained by pointing out that the major and minor keys are modes, the Ionian and Aeolian Modes respectively. If you use the white notes on a keyboard only and your keynote, the note your ear wants to return to, is C then you are playing in C Major or the Ionian Mode in C. If the keynote is A then you are playing in A Minor or the Aeolian mode in A.
If you use the white keys only and the keynote is F then you are playing in the Lydian Mode. That is our year. The financial year is in the Locrian Mode, the Devil's Mode so called which may be appropriate.
Each mode is supposed to have its own feeling tone so this question may have ramifications. I expect to be contacted by the Illuminati any day."

Interesting observation. Can it be just coincidence? Music is all about patterns.
When comparing two cyclic natural phenomenons, one should expect to find similarities in patterns or sequences of number. Nothing exceptional here apart from the perfect and infinite beauty of π.
Interesting, but easily explained as coincidence. Any complex system full of massive numbers of objects and events will also have a wealth of whacky correlations like this. Thanks for sharing though!

If it started on A or C which is a Do. I would be more convinced. Unless somebody as a explanation why January is F.
Isn’t this sort of thing you use to prove that the Moon landings were faked?
It would be just as valid to ask why is January the first month? Why is Ionian the "first" mode?
