AUM-Like Video Mixer for iPadOS?
Ok, naïve question. And it's related to other discussions, including the one about Imaginando's VS Visual Synthesizer.
- Is there an iPad app out there which works a bit like AUM (or AB3, Loopy Pro, apeMatrix…) but for video feeds?
Playflow is key. Should be easy and fun to use.
On desktop, there are multiple solutions to play with videos, from Resolume and TouchDesigner to Max/Vizzie and Processing. Those are quite powerful. And wellknown. It's relatively easy to avoid scammy options.
On iPadOS, there are multiple apps which do all sorts of video manipulations, including mixing video feeds. Yet it's a bit of a “jungle”, out there. Hard to tell which apps are worth the effort.
So, what I imagine would be a set of channels/tracks/layers/busses taking in video sources (yes, that part might be tricky, I realize that) and somehow process them together the way we can bus audio in AUM, for instance. Obviously, it'd also take MIDI in (as the protocol is used in some visual work anyway). OSC's fine too.
Maybe this doesn't exist because it'd be too difficult to create. Maybe this idea is way off. Or maybe it's actually a common thing to do and I have no idea, because I typically don't do anything visual.
Thanks for any help!

Right after posting this, I decided to give TouchViZ a try. There's definitely a “there”, there. It works well as a way to mix two video feeds, with several FX. The playflow ain't too bad. It does work realtime (say, front and back cameras on the iPad). And it works really well with an external screen.
What's mainly missing might not be possible to get. Getting video input from other apps/plugins (including VS).
My main use case is probably something like having multiple instances of VS, each processing visuals from a single audio feed (I don't think I can get multiple audio feeds into a single VS instance, which is the main thing I'd want), and then mix these visual layers with gestures and/or controllers. Having more than two would be neat, though it's ok to focus on two and switch them around.
Of course, if TVZ itself could support plugins and audio inputs and work a bit like AUM… it'd be a different app, I guess.
Still, it's the kind of thing that could be really cool. No?
(Perfectly willing to be wayyyyy off. As long as you don't use that as an excuse to insult me. As I said, I'm naïve about these things!)
