The CAT synth is extremely good a bass sounds, mainly due to its two Sub Octave Oscillators.
It just sounds deep and powerful.

I wonder how it stacks up against the Cherry Audio version of the CAT?
@NeuM I haven’t tried the Cherry Audio version but I’ve heard that it’s very good.
And I'm not sure the existance of one means less customers for the provider of the other. Hardware people tend to stick with hardware.
The Cat sure can growl, certainly when you use FM, only strange thing with this synth is manual operation of oscillator sync, which breaks up, although via modulation it’s fine. It’s mighty in bass with regards to the much compared Odyssey although lacks the ring modulation of the Odyssey.
