Chase bliss mood mk2

So I’m on the fence of buying one of these to use with me Op-1 field but I’m wondering if there are any iPad apps or a combination of them that could get close to doing what it does. Have any of you tried making something like it? It’s basically a looper with granular stuff going a delay a reverb. Lol I guess I just answered my own question.

  • i always find that when i hear something that i really like and try to replicate it i never get exactly what i want.
its very anal but most us musicians are when it comes to creating music.

if you can afford it without financially screwing yourself over, I would always buy the machine that inspires you. rather than looking for alternatives. you might pay out a lot more money, but you save time, frustration and loss of inspiration.

the great thing nowadays is if you buy the gear new you can always return it to the shop within 30 days (at least in the EU)

I find Bram Bos’ Gauss Field Looper with the 1989 setting enabled can get a similar vibe. I’m sure putting another app in front that can make a sound lo-fi can help.

I use the Boss RE-202 Space Echo as a 6 second looper and that hits the Chase Bliss vibe for me as well.

  • as an all-in-one solution the chase bliss stuff is hard to replicate. i recently bought the Reverse C pedal and am enjoying it. as mentioned above, these pedals can be resold at almost the same price (and even higher if it's a limited edition), so if you can afford one it's probably worth trying one out.

  • I found Mood’s UI/workflow/physical layout hard to mimic in Drambo & couple missing buffer functions etc that I couldn’t figure out how to replicate with Modules/Routing options etc at the time….

But I cobbled couple things while vaguely trying to ballpark some Chase Bliss vibes. Free on Patchstorage ⬇️ Demo vid on each patch so you can get a taste of what they do -

This time it isn’t so much about the money but I’m living in Mexico and sometime my shipments get held up in customs. Hahah

I hear you all about trying to replicate stuff though. I do love Gauss looper but I always get that weird glitch when turning on and off the recording. In a live situation it’s useless unfortunately.

Thx so much I’ll try these out today.

  • I would try running a few separate instances of Enso Looper (each feeding into Other Desert Cities) in AUM. You could experiment with the routing - some instances serial and others parallel. There is a lot of power and flexibility in both app settings, which would get you to the Mood MkII universe and beyond.

Nice one. I have both of those apps as well!.

  • Rymdigare is also worth a look for this kind of thing.

Many things may get close and all are worth investigating but nothing compares to Mood mk2.
The flow is so fun and quickly pleasing but deep. The midi integration is outstanding. You can play it as a monosynth! As well as play your frozen fx.
I’ve only scratched the surface, but the experience was so good I rapidly sold a few things as well as thankfully made a few bux making a jingle,
But all that money went to a Blooper and a Habit.
Their pedals are well worth it.
If you like the Mood, the Blooper and Habit overlap but are all amazing, and now they are raffling this habit guitar for charity!

I obviously have “joined the cult”

I agree! Amazing pedals for sure! I wish I could afford them. They are so unique and so well thought out.

I wonder if there is any app (or even a combination of apps) that can replicate some of the Habit pedal traits. Perhaps a combination of Igor Vasiliev's apps with specific settings can do something similar.

  • The one I am lusting after is the Lossy, it's actually based on a desktop plugin by Goodhertz, I would be really happy if this ever came to iOS:

Whoa. That’s the one I’ve been looking for. Rings fx and Rymdigare sound great together.

Glad the suggestion hit the spot. Rymdigare is insanely useful.
