Moody orchestral piece using only korg sounds.

I really love korg sounds. Owned a T3 and 01W keyboard back in the day, and now thanks to the available korg apps I have those sounds again on my ipad. The iM1 app just became Auv3! Thanks Korg! The Korg apps and IAP's are currently on sale - great time to grab'em.

Here's a dark & moody orchestra-like piece using nothing but those vintage Korg sounds. Various Strings, flute, harpsichord, timpani, and a tubular bell I think. Used Mixbox staurator, TB reverb & EQ, LUXE and a stereo widener. It's a short improved thing. Was in an odd mood...

  • Here's another moody korg ochestra thing, more like a film score of various scenes. This isn't stuff I normally do, but sometimes playing with sounds spark something new. Most of it's improved while recording, all except the little fugue that I wrote previously - had that handy so I stuck it in there. All Korg sounds.

These are really good! Definitely a different direction for you. I would love to hear more like this. I didn’t know they upgraded to AuV3. Thanks for letting me know. I just updated. I’m poking around to see if there is anything new. Don’t have much time to explore. Our furnace went out yesterday and I have bigger things to think about. Oh well, something to look forward to once the heat is back on. I hope you have a better day than me!

  • The auv3 update is working well for me in AUM. I don’t think anything new was added (no new sounds). Sorry to hear about your furnace trouble. Hope you get that worked out soon.

    Thanks for listening!

  • @Dav Goodness, these pieces are amazing mate. Hopefully more people come to listen to these. :) I like the first piece, but I wish the music lasted longer. The second piece was really satisfying to listen to.

@Paulieworld Just ask your spouse to cuddle with you under some blankets. That should make everything better. ;)

Thank you, @jwmmakerofmusic! those were a fun diversion.

I’ve been the last few days away from music & recording entirely, enjoying a short spring break trip at Sunset Beach, NC. Mostly walking/biking an uninhabited island there called Bird Island. Only thing on the island is the mysterious Kindred Spirit Mailbox.

Before leaving for the trip I grabbed the ‘Touchscaper’ app. Having a blast that right now. Probably will post something made in it soon, with an ocean influence…

    Thanks for listening!

We do that every night, regardless of the weather. It’s not super sexy, but it’s nice. We had several quotes on the furnace. One was for $12,000. The other was for $200. Call Pino at All You Can Heat And Cool. Ask for Rick. They will get it done!

  • @Dav when you post that Touchscaper piece, tag me. I want to listen. :)

@Paulieworld Rick sounds like a top bloke. Often it's who you know and establish business relationships with. My auto mechanic cuts me a deal on repairs to my car. He knows my financial situation so lets me pay in installments. He does NOT do this for anyone else. It's due to my parents having been customers of his since the 90s, so he trusts me. I don't bullshit him either just as he doesn't bullshit me. Cheers mate. Stay warm. 🍻 🥃 🍷

  • That second one is a real blast. Loved the ending.
Touchscaper is an oldy but goody.
Very interested to hear where you go to next musically…
    Bird Island looks fantastic… I’m jealous 🤨

    Hey thanks for listening @GeoTony!

Yeah, Bird Island is where I go when I need to get away from it all and recover from the stress of life, like last year after my father died it's the only place I wanted to go to for a while, to be alone and think about life. There's nothing like having a beautiful piece of nature all to yourself, with no sights or sounds of mankind (well, there are a few but can block them out..). Here'a a pic I took then, used a bike that day.

  • Looks beautiful @Dav . We’re off to the Lofoten Islands off the coast of Norway next month. Not sure it will be as sandy as Bird Island but looking forward to it.

  • Oh wow, Lofoten looks incredibly beautiful! Hope you have an awesome time.

Fantastic piece. Now I want to visit that Bird Island, but I need to find a black steed, a good sword, and learn a few magic spells first. Because I wouldn’t last a second in that mystical place. Judging by your inspiration, you got there. 🤩

  • Lol, thanks @Luxthor!
