Hyperlink remix (made for a competition tomorrow)

There's a discord server having a remix competition, so I decided to try my hand at it. I only took their vocal stems and chopped them up a little for the "chorus". The rest is mostly cheating with Riffler and a desktop app called Groove Maker. :) Just messed around until I found what I liked.

If I win, maybe I'll be a $100 dollars richer. If not, at least I won't break the bank. :)

Edit: Everything goes full circle. I decided to add some 808 sub bass and ended up messing with the track in AUM and finishing in Cubasis.

  • I like this remix. Especially the guitar shredding. :) Now this gives me an idea for a new track in Koala. Not to worry, I'm still planning to make a Prog Rock song soon in Gadget, but I really love the bpm and the beat.

Which app may I ask did you use?

    Thanks for listening!

For the guitar parts I used Riffler and exported midi for the “bell” sound which is PPG Wave on desktop. Then the guitar is an actual audio export.

Then for the added 808 Bass in the new version (see edit in original post), I also used Riffler to control the 808 bass.

The drums are UJAM’s Vice Beatmaker (desktop) which is geared towards synthwave. I drew in the midi for the pattern.

There’s another bass like sound from a desktop app called PS-20 (Cherry Audio). The midi pattern was made with another app called Groovemaker (desktop). You can draw in block chords in your track and use Groovemaker to arpeggiate or create a rhythm in a sequencer. It’s easier than messing directly with the midi.

The rest of the vsts and apps were effects for mixing and mastering. :)
