Are projects gone after re-install?
Hi.
Loopy pro suddenly started to crash every time I opened it.
I hard re-started my ipad but it kept happening.
I uninstalled it and re-installed it.
Are my projects all completely gone now?
If so, is there a way of saving them somewhere in case this happens again?
Thanks.
Alan

If you backed up your device before you deleted the app, you can restore your iPad.
Deleting any app removes all the data and files on its home folder which is why the OS warns about that in the delete confirmation dialog.
You can copy your loopy pro folder to back up its contents to the cloud or server or external storage device.
Okay.
Thank you.
I was just checking to see if Loopy pro is being backed up and it’s not in the list of apps that get backed up to iCloud.
How do I add it to this list?
That's the list of apps that can save data to iCloud. You need to go to Manage Account Storage and select Backups to see the list of apps being backed up. Loopy Pro should be in it. But remember, the only way to use a backup is to do a full restore, i.e. wipe the device. So a backup is not a convenient way to recover individual files.
Be aware also that when doing a restore, your device will be forced to upgrade to the latest iOS version. All your apps will be re-downloaded with the latest version. Any apps that you may have installed that are no longer in the App Store may not be re-installed.
For most people the above causes no issues unless they have a reason not to upgrade or have the rare app that is no longer in the App Store, but it’s something to be aware of.
I recommend using iMazing as a backup up as it can restore only the files you want without restoring the whole device. I think it may even be able to retrieve data from Apple backup files (though not cloud backups)
Thanks for your help, guys.
😮 I’ve been using ipads for 5 years, but never thought that the iCloud backup is only for complete recovering of the device…
